1. my sisters husband has one of these with a Glock preamp in it... it sounds and feels as good as any high end bass imo...
2. high mass bridges, string through bodies... the engineering of a problem thats not there..
3. Not since Groove collective had i seen a band live like these.. very tight sh*t http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nlYI9QdpOQ nice Surf green P bass too..
4. wicked,i really like that guy.. .. hes so in the pocket..
5. I think this guy is amazing.... for sure he fills up the space with notes, but i love the notes he fills it up with.. for those who dont know the bass its an MTD KZ6.. the pups are Ken Smith custom the pre is stock... but damn he needs to dial in the mids a bit on this vid.. For me hes up there with Sharay Reed... but have you heard of him??.. shocking.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN2Rf_docjs great vid with a MO6 chord sequence. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2gxrBgsWI0...feature=related my favorite unknown You Tuber.. whats yours?
6. this bass is (imo) amazing.. one of the best bn5,s ive ever seen.. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/ft-fbas...ocobolo-802941/
7. for me the Sadowsky has the tone to cut through....its like comparing ferrari to lamborghini .. both amazing but what would you prefer to drive? the Zon imo is an awsome bass.. but the Sadowsky preamp is poss the best preamp you can have in a bass....but the RV5 neck is a let down for me.. the Zon i played was killer.. if i had to choose the Zon would get my vote... IMO Zons do the graphite thing way better than Modulus.. Exclusivity is a major factor.. The name Zon is very cool. .i would take a Sukop over either..
8. i like a good tone.. but in the greater context of music, few care about your tone... but a great tone makes me want to play more
9.
Mine never hummed. But they are single coil pups running through an active pre so you're going to get some noise when a pup is solo'd. They're good guitars and the pre-amps are very decent. I thought the pups were particularly well judged and the neck finish was excellent. The neck pocket fit on mine wasn't great and the finish on the body could have been better, but it played very well and sounded the business
MM4 great bass poor preamp.. MM5 great bass, the best Fender jazz 5 i ever played..
10. not sure of your point, but i think generally the only bass sound that really gets any ears is from the bassist....
11. i have a friend who loves this stuff.. what do you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0bLJYtGTzo...feature=related
12. man that is nice.. what can i do to get this bass
13. Some more great Ed Motta...i really dig the bassist.. no idea who it is.. i do know these are played on a Fender Jazz 75 CIJ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHb9jtZq8GQ...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tlddOoPB4k...feature=related
14. ive got to agree, im not a fan of that rubbery neck pickup tone.. but im guessing, shes been brought up on an old school DB type of tone, i like the bridge tone, but its so synonymous with Jaco, its a little refreshing to hear it dialed in differently.. much prefer pickups dialed in the same position with a bit of neck pup rolled off.. still got some bass punch but with a tad of definition.. i would agree to an extent that its the player and her position, but the tone will still be the same played on the bridge but with a gnats knacker more tightness...
15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDyzMmh9EUA epic bass playing..
16. I felt the same way. She grabs the brain, the heart and the balls all at the same time.
17. never dude..!! you can see the passion in her playing for sure.. reminds me very much of Meshell with the physical aspect of her playing, but a better voice....old school neck pickup tone shes getting from that jazz, possibly an extension of her DB?.... fantastic bass feel with great vocals... she actually sound a little like Barbra Streisand in her vocal style.. by the way i love Barbra Streisand
18. this is so cool my tongue is stuck to it... I only know Esperanza from the DB playing that my sister listens to..(which she plays half way through the vid..) This is killer.. what a fantastic musician/bassist this girl is... very attractive girl too...ooooohhh.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aRC3YY3svs
19. I just so dig this guys playing...the more i listen to him... very busy bass line that never sounds self indulgent.. very musical.. he got groove...... Just some of his playing 2.27 in... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sK0ePMkBMzM its a Glock pre in that 1005 FYI The full version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTiMFRHwOw4...feature=related there is so much more of the music hes played on thats great... my favorite band of all time also..
20. Yes i think ive shown this before.... Insane playing from this very much unknown Gospel bassist... a showcase more than anything at the start.. as hes a monster player in a band situation.. the main groove starts from 7.20.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ThwuJVcyoA
21. Ahh.. my old bass brought brand new... the neck on this is to die for..
22.
That was great. The solo was beautiful. Lovely tone too. This is, sadly, where my knowledge of the Bass lets me down and I feel it. It doesn't normally bother me much, I just play and enjoy it. But I hear something like that and I don't know where to start to go about getting a tone like that or even the scales used. So hearing it made my heart swell but left me feeling sad...
Lessons and study..
23. I really like this guys playing.... great soloing on that TRB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGy2VEMzyeQ...feature=related
