1. recently iplayed a bongo a sr4 and a sterling and the sterling was the best IMO.. awsome focused slap tone..
2. its marketing yep.. just like string through bodies, high mass bridges, yeah they do make a difference but the difference is so little the only person who cares is the bassist... dont get me wrong i love pimping basses but sometimes i feel that alot of companies are engineering stuff for a problem that isnt there..
3. .. i do think that a note should sustain, but when do you ever play a note for that long? most basses sustain long enough to make good music..i really dont buy into this 'my bass sustains for days'... who cares
4. its a Jaco.. no pickguard as standard..but why no holes...awsome awsome bass mind..
5. Yeah..its great. prefer it to the original..
6. This has so much groove its hurts... love the bass, keys and horns.. f***,.. everything is right on this track.. super soul funk!! this man is so talented its silly.. one of the greats in soul music today IMO... 7. This guy is an amazing player!.. Glen Gaddum on Frank Mccombs version of Golden Lady... when the track gets going he shows some wonderful musical chops... nothing flashy, just dancing around the changes and in the pocket.. this not gonna blow you away with flash, but what he does he does so well and i adore his note choices.. !!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYliUs0wvIk This is my favorite Chaka Rufus tune ever.. its just such a soul classic... 13.
i dont know much but i know that's def not genuine! the neck lookslike a cheap aftermarket, the logo doesnt look right, pickups wrong knobs wrong etc etc. just hope someone doesnt end up shelling out on this lemon!
they wont ive reported it..
14. i asked him about it and he called me an idiot and go and walk a dog...ha ha.. what a w***er
15. I spotted this add, where this guy is trying to palm off this bass as a 62 RI..he says its got a 70's neck? what with 60's decals?... he also calls it a stacked knob jazz..erm, i dont think so.. look at those tuners from the back, there not even straight.. gets on my nerves when people try and rip people off... am i missing something? http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/fender-j...eissue/82880861
16. Very nice.. you got GAS for another bass or something?
17.
I think Rhonda is a good player, but the solo seemed like the kind of solo 'expected' from the bass player of Jeff Beck and a little contrived. It's like the bass solo I've heard a thousand times before from a thousand different bass players, not particularly unique IMO I will always love her playing with Prince though, particularly stuff like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vITKFi2W_o
Nice one Ris.. great vid this.. she totally groovin in this..this is what Rhonda does best IMO... what a track from the man.. thanks for the post Pete..
18. This Flame maple fretted version with the black headstock is killer!!!!...

20. Very nice!... i think thats a good price too for an NYC in this condition.. matching headstock too..
21. the Di Marzio Ultra jazz sound great although it does seem that they do have a more scooped mid sound.. wonder what the Model J's are like..
