4.
That's fair enough. I'm just saying that, as a result of how it's made, I find it dull and linear. Always did. Each to their own, eh?
Yeah.. i was thinking more of the musical content that he had constructed and his voice, but...maybe i need to open my ears more..
5. i must be stuck in 2004 then..whats wrong with enjoying something thats now, regardless of how its made..? just because someone makes music in a certain way doesnt mean its not good.. just me maybe..
6. IMO, ok he is looping , but the guy is very good. and what a voice..
7. now thats alot of 9v batts.. cool bass
8. i was talking about the bass in the background..
9. This guy is really fantastic.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJfnvna4kwI
10. there are many tones you can get from your finger as we all know, depending on where your pluck, pick, strum from.. there is no doubt these (cool looking) pickup covers get in the way.. i like to use the whole breadth of the string, so they get in the way.. but ive got to say i love the look of them.. erm.. ive left them on sometimes.. fashion over function and all IMO (only talking Fender here) its the only silliness, in Fenders brilliant design
11.
What bass could possibly cost 20k?
more of a selection of basses to throw your cash at..

13.
i'd spend most of that money on an amazing amplifier
what amp could possibly cost near 20k?
14.
FIXED
he he.. i respect his difference, and love some of his basses..its the price im quivering with
15. yes but your eccentric like that BRX..
16. WOW.. what a bass.. and a great price for a bass of this original price!! i would love this
17. just a bit of fun, but there are many amazing Bass guitar shops in the world... but if you had 20 G's, (like you do) where would you go to spend your scratch For me it would be the Bass Central in Florida... my god they have a selection of electric basses!! endless MusicMans..the SR5 page goes on and on.. Never mind the Ken Smiths..!! Oh and the Fender stock...Oh and the Zons!!..the list goes on.. http://www.basscentral.com/2003/bass.shtml my tongue would be on the floor if i walked into that place.... The Low End shop would be nice too then again Bass Direct wouldnt go a miss
18. Expensive basses arent for the audience though.. there for the player... and what they feel makes them play better whether it be from tone or playability... for example the Sei i had, had a lovely sculpted heel, that made it lovely to play.. little details make a difference
19. Ive had a few expensive basses and now im playing a 21 year old MIJ Fender Jazz..Although im playing through Aguilar amps im the happiest ive ever been... there are so many great basses that sound awsome and play very very well.. like Rob said... its if your happy.. instruments are so subjective to the individual player... different strokes and all that.. and knowone cares what bass your playing.. only you
20.
I personally find Fenders (guitar and bass) really boring. They are fantastic sounding instruments don't get me wrong but I find that there isn't any individuality to them unless you mod the living daylights out of them but then there isn't much fender left to them.
i used to think this..i didnt want to play what everyone else was playing...Then i realised its what you play thats individual.. not the bass.. its just a tool also a jazz bass has many tones to form your individuality from
21. that bass sounds amazing.. great playing too..
22. how on earth is this bass so mint???
23. Ok ive just aquired one of these basses.. thought i would write a review.. although this is a fairly specific review as there are quite a few versions of the Fender 62 RI. My specific bass is an Fender MIJ 62 RI from about 1989/90..has been a bit a bit of a minefield of miss information... Alder body in surf green, which is fairly lightweight.. A lovely rosewood fretboard, Vintage style tuners, Vintage bridge,i installed Lollar pickups (i have the original Fender pickups)..Maple neck Playability.. Wow this thing is like coming home for me... Its a Jazz bass.. Ive set up the bass and i can get the action nice and low..The neck is where its at, just the best ive played..Super slim with a great profile..Its just so easy to fly around on this bass.. It has a small amount of neck dive but i think this can be expected from the vintage tuners used, as i didnt get this from my old USA standard with the lighter tuners...No big deal.. my only gripe is that the grub screws that adjust the saddles are a little long and can dig into your inner forearm when slapping....again no big deal Sound.. proper jazz bass tone as expected..Stuck some new DR low riders on there and there it is.. Wonderful growl and snap...Rosewood boards are a little darker than the sparkling highs of the maple boarded 75 RI i had, but no lesser a tone for it..Sometimes i think the more glassy tone comes from the huge amount of poly (or whatever used) on the maple boards.. ive actually fitted an Audere 3 band preamp to this bass, but im reviewing the stock bass.. but i will just say that the Audere has turned it into a super 62 Construction.. Ok this is where this bass shines...ive owned and played lots of Fender basses.. This bass is easily better than most of them in its construction...Its as good as my old Custom Shop LTD edition 1970 Jazz without doubt..Its built like a tank..The added bonus you get with this bass is you can take the pickguard off and there is no routing..You only get this on CS and MIM basses i believe.. i really dont like the routing under the USA basses..Makes them feel a little cheap to me.. the bass has very few dings for a 21 year old bass and is still very solid, i think its a testament to Fenders built in Japan.. Considering the price of these (ok they are getting more expensive) IMHO i would go MIJ/CIJ everytime..i dont care if its not made in the USA.. I think 99 percent of the time you will get a top draw Fender from Japan..i wouldnt have that same faith in the USA models im afraid.. and there half the price..AND there colours/models are way better no brainer
24.
I'm a simple soul. For me, if it feels right and sounds right then it is right.
The bassics of a good instrument is this.. .. but of course these two things involve lots of attributes.. or maybe more subtle touches that a player either needs or desires in and instrument
25. I would pay over 3000 for this one or less as its preowned.....i just love Cocobolo....stunning Sadowsky
