I wish I'd never sold mine![/quote]arent CIJ's hard to find now?..Squire's are certainly great basses.. they dont touch MIJ Fender though IMO.. this is an MIJ played by Julian Crampton.. i played this very bass through a phil jones suitcase combo, when i spoke to him at the jazz cafe back stage he said all he changed was the bridge... he had the action very low for a Fender... he said it cost him £500.... this is a vid of that bass.. go MIJ.... USA quality at a third of the price

i dont get GAS (MUCH) these days, but what keeps popping into my mind is an SR5.. i had a fantastic one, but let it go for financial reasons.. it was the only bass i really regret letting go.... The one i had was just an incredible bass.. weight, playability, the build quality was the best ive had, the punch and tone were amazing..... im getting the need to get one again.. Im either going to sell some studio monitors or save... the one i had was on here a while ago for sale... did anyone buy it?....if anyone can remember the sale of my old one can you link me...Was blue with matching headstock.. These are really nice.. my vote goes for the Sequoia Gold Finish 2008 LTD SR5.. just lovely.. or the white... oh or the sterling silver...they were always very good at combining colour combos Music Man....

Good call Leroy.. hes awsome.... im gonna post this guy.. his name is Dale Black..you may love him, you may hate him...but what you cant do is deny he is a monster player..i think hes one of the greatest unknown Gospel bassists.. ive seen him doing a slow groove thing too and he is just as impressive... remember...hes not all super chops.. for all you who dont like Gospel Chops... oh and hes not mechanical.. he has an intro, then he shows a lesson on chords and slap bass ,then there is the biblical groove at 7.20.. The greatest thing about CIJ/MIJ is they play just as good and built just as good, if not sometimes better than the USA versions which are over £1000 more..its crazy... Ive had a few USA Fenders, and the CIJ 62 Jazz was just as good if not better... My next purchase is an MIJ 62 RI like this one.. IMO Japan Fender are way way ahead of the USA Fender... in the different colour combos, the (secret MIJ Fenders) the build quality, (is most of the time better than USA Fender's.. The LT editions.... MIJ's are way more exciting than the boring plodding stuff that US FEnder comes out with.......how have Fender not realised this and caught up...?? for me the original USA Fender is looking dreary and old hat..and has lost its prestigiousness... unless maybe custom shop.. they really need to do something exciting and a bit more often...

Over the years ive listened to BNH alot... still think they were the best popular thing to happen to soul/groove/funk.. Always loved Andrew's playing.. but didnt noticed it that much..in a way thats why i really love it because he is so perfect in that band..funky, understated.. still pulls out some wonderful grooves and fills, but is SUPER SOLID.. he always sounds good and adds so much to that band.... BNH were never Acid Jazz what ever that was? ..there were too soulful... Jan Kincaid and his crew have got serious soul.. a great understated bass player... i was just thinking.. what does the upstroke of the thumb do, that your pointing of index finger cant do? is it in the structure of the rythm?

i cant double thumb, would love to be able to, maybe soon...much more efficient.. but from experience (as all others)different techniques really dont take that long with patience, (some longer than others) and taking it slow.. methodically.. another feather in your cap and all that Pete..
