  1. Im not sure of the bass player because they have had a few I believe. But this is just.!!! In general I love this band. They are like the best mix of funk, prog rock and groove.. If there were expert musicians these guys have always been in my top 10
  2. You wouldn't even know Pino was there sometimes, and that imo makes him so great, he just blends into any song without shouting bass, but still pulls out the class fills from that fretless stingray. . The years of music I've enjoyed from Paul Young are vast.As for Chaka well.. Its a great Bobby Womack cover imo.
  3. I know my Yammy TRB's but I'm not that good. I need some advice and I need it quick.
  4. The guy that produced some of the greatest Incognito records breaks down a classic. Its very interesting the way he deconstructs this Quincy Jones, Rod Temperton classic.
  5. Not many people know this genius played bass on this track. Of course you bass geeks do. He was a sax player and an all round genius musician. Im a huge of of his sax playing on Gentle Fire. His bass playing of course is just.

My favourite bass of all time.
  8. I first heard him many many years ago when I was 18, me and my sister listened to this live album and we just thought it was the best music we had ever heard. . . Still to this day he blows me away. His voice, his keys playing on this live album, his vocal power and control. No other soul singer even comes close to his vocal range. Willie Week,s bass playing on this live album is just..!!
  9. I have a Nordstrand Nordy VJ5 for trade. Its a 2007 made instrument. Its a swamp ash body with a maple neck and fingerboard. Hands down the best neck ive ever played apart from my Lakland 5594. Anyone who's ever played a Nordy probably knows these are one of the best Jazz basses ever made. The electronics are not the original spec. The original electronics were a Nordstrand 3 band with Nordstrand Fat Stacks. I personally prefer the Aguilar SD's. This bass was made for and ordered by Mark at Bass Direct I believe. I can't find a mark on it so its been very well looked after As I said the pickups are Aguilar Super Doubles, and the pre is and Aguilar OBP3. switchable active passive by the toggle. Sounds monstrous. Anything from a Jaco back pickup burp to a P Bass thump. Like many high end end basses this is super easy to play.action is super low with DR fat beams. Weighs 8.9 pounds so is light for a 5 string. I have loved playing this bass and it is Nordstrand at its finest. Trades im after are a Sadowsky UV70 5 or other Sadowsky 5vers. Im really after a Yamaha TRB 6 string. Or other high end 5 string basses im interested in.. Thankyou for looking. OOh i ay be tempted by a very special light SR5
  10. And now for something a little different but its still in funkyish category for me.
  11. A one note slap fest. I tried to make it funky.. honest . excuse the sloppy playing I don't play slap very often
  12. No Jan. He's got another band atm . They are excellent.
