I may have posted this before but my sister sent it to me, and its just fabulously well worth re posting. Cory Henry,s keys playing on the keys is just fabulous. Sharay Reed's bass playing is just under the raidar groove. B Slade,s vocals are litteraly mind bending. The greatest vocals ive ever heard bar Donny Hathaway. Always blown away by his power and control. Just phenomenal vocals. B Slade @ 9.00 mins.

Possiby my favourite album of all time. Freddie on the P.

Pretty much what i said.? Maybe i missing something.

His playing on this is one of the greatest. If you take the bass away you dont have alot. His slap isnt flash, its just for the record and fills the record... Patrice wrote this on the piano i believe. Freddie worked out the bass on his 72 P bass.

I think you can kind of hear his bass playing. Its very strict. The way he holds a note. Totally for the record and the odd slap here and there.

After watching that Freddie Washington vid i listened to this. Listening to this record has taken up my ears for today. Fabulous record, Fabulous bass playing. Tight studio Washington bass playing on a Ken Smith. .Arrangements and drums and vocals by Phil Collins who i think is so so tallented... the Freddie Washington vid is below.

This. USA Lakland 5594 Deluxe....But with Lakland pickups and pre.. tone wise its just a monster, can do most, fat, punchy. You can dial in so much., the neck is the best on any bass ever made period.. very flat front to back then gets flatter towards the body. If you havent picked up a 5594 you must. I remember picking up my first 5594 and you could just feel its vibration. Sounds like bs but it aint. They are phenomenal electric basses.

When it comes to breaking down some of the greatest records of all time this is the guy. Hes a great bass player/multi instrumentalist. In this vid he breaks down the woman in my profile pic. His other vids are just a real lesson in how the greats make their music.

Same bass player same pianist.

Timbre.? His tone.? I suggest hes rolled on the neck pickup. Yes its very laid back. A good live drummer would be the solution.

Here you go Dad. . No beat, sit back put on a brew. Have a Werthers. Im kidding of course. My father is a classical musician, a pianist and he doesn't like that sort of beat either.. But as long as its a physical interaction between human an instrument im always there. Listen to the bass playing Dad. No thump thump. Its fabulous playing from both of these guys.

Funky house music from Louis Benedetti with the dopest groove bass player on the planet imo and its what a jazz bass should sound like. His name is Gene Perez.
