  1. Going to see these guys in December in Leamington Spa. . I had the pleasure of meeting Andrew Levy and he is one of the nicest people you could ever talk to.
  2. This is a bit of a revelation for me having never owned a P Bass before. Right away ive noticed that this bass makes me play very differently. I don't know what it is about a P Bass but the feel/neck and the tone makes me slow my playing down. Im quite amazed that you can buy a bass of this quality for this much money. It seriously is a very well put together instrument. Ive been playing it all afternoon and im at a loss to find anything bad about it.
  3. I remember when this guy came on stage in his pink cardigan at the Jazz Cafe in London with Incognito. Totally blew us away. He is one of the greatest musicians ive ever seen live period.
  4. Its different. The quality of tone is there but the Suhr was a 70s spacing jazz bass. This is more 60,s
  5. No sorry. You can pickup Wilkinson j bass pickups for about 40 quid though
  6. Got this Jazz bass in a trade, but I have to realise traditional JJ Jazz basses are not for me anymore. In brand new condition. Not a mark on it. White/Cream Alder Body. Maple neck. A John East pre and Bartolini pickups have been added. DR strings. As well as a Fender high mass bridge. The original Wilkinson BBOT bridge is included as well as a Leather(ish) Thomann gig bag and leather Gaucho strap... I have a black vintage style hardcase also if needed. Sound wise its pretty amazing, sounds like a good Jazz bass on steroids . Great East pre. and my favourite Bart pickups. It weighs 4.1 kg on my scales. These basses are £289 retail. The cost of the pre and pickups alone are more than the bass so I think its a bargain. The East pre and Barts are brand new. So looking for a good P Bass. If you have a Yamaha BB, Squire/Mexican Fender or Sire P7 4 string I'm all ears. Other offers are welcome. Thankyou for looking.
  7. Amazing bass playing from one of my favourites. He just gets more and more creative as this cracker of a jazz funk record progresses. Larry Carlton on Guitar, Wilton Felder tenor sax, Joe Sample Keys.
  8. This. Ask him on the FB Nordy page. Ive spoken with him a few times about my Nordy VJ5

I usually hate the P Bass sound. Way too rubbery for me. On this, I will make an exception. David Bailis on a P bass with flats.
  10. You will not find a better Jazz bass at this price period.
  11. Part of the Studio Jam's series. Its Curtis Harmon on drums, James Loyd on keys. For me this is Victor Wooten at his fingerstyle best. The detail in his playing is insane and so very musical.. Get past the double thumbing and he lays down the groove... His finger style solo at 5.40 is just.. !
  12. Im not sure when I first heard his Earth Wind and Fire bass cover of Cant Hide Love.. But I do know his 2 bass part playing just blew me away when I first heard it.. Just so very musical he is. He's not a song writer but when he has a great platform like an EWF record to lay it down on its just absolute magic.. This is one of those examples.
  13. What actual Fender Jazz bass is this.? Im confused
  14. After lots of research I decided on the Zoom B1 4. From Thomann for £66. Seems like a total bargain for what you're getting. I can plug this into my Roland Go Mixer pro and my phone.
  15. Over the years I've listened to this band and all of their albums. They are Soul Funk and Groove, they can do it all. imo. . Pete loved them also.. its very difficult to have a favourite band but AWB come close for me..
