  1. Mate. Need, Want, Need, Want. Seems clear to me.
  2. Seems that way. Now.... this is not technically GAS if I actually need something.!?
  3. Lakland 44-60 Jazz bass for sale. now £470. Get yourself a bargain Lakland. These are £1190 new. No dings or cracks on the body/finish, just swirls in the finish and the odd small ding on the headstock which I can't photograph. No pickguard when i bought it. There is a blemish on the neck with I have taken a pic of. Thats all the bad bits out of the way. The good bits. The neck on this is just way out there skinny. 36mm at the bridge. Its so comfortable with a matt finish. The Hanson/Lakland USA pickups have a very hot output. They sound amazing. The harmonics on this bass ring better than my Sei Jazz. Its just a great 60's jazz. I have lemon oiled the fretboard and put on some brand new EB Super Slinkys. Ive taken it to rehearsals with the EB strings and it sounds immense. Its a Lakland we all know how good they are . I can now post as i have a box with lots of packing etc. Ideally you can come and play it through my amplification. Or I can meet up within a reasonable distance.
  4. I forgot my Amp last night, so plugged into a Laney of some sort and a Kustom 410. This sound issue disappeared. !!?? The G string was super loud when popped. I can only guess its down to the Genz 210.???
  5. Bummer, the outer of the bush is 14mm across . Was worth a try. 😂
  6. Ahh sorry I've just seen the bushing bit. Let me know the mm of the outer bushing . You never know.
  7. Mate I have some USA UltraLights from my Sei.They are old school HS without the logo, but they are cloverleaf and are USA. If you let me know the diameter I will check if they will fit. If they fit you can have them for free.
  8. I could be totally wrong but there are different sizes with Hipshot tuners.are you sure you have right diameter HIpshot diameter.?
  9. Dan the whole page was very sensitive about hurting anyones feelings. Which is all well and lovely, but as we all know people have opinions..There is a line to be drawn of course. None of us want any hate or total disregard for anyones playing or feelings. But it was just a question about a particular bass manufacturer and what people may/might not like about Rikenbackers. Whats the problem.? I don't see Fender getting upset when someone said they didn't like the tone of a Jazz bass, or the opinion of any other instrument. Im afraid that particular FB group was a way too stifling. Im not sure John Hall can sue a FB group for having an opinion on his instruments, absolutely not.
  10. We are not offending old people. We are not offending disabled people. We are merely disscussing a brand that makes millions from making instruments that some people dont like. Its ok to offend as long as its in a constructive way. To be honest the forum was turning into an endless Alder or Ash argument. Or show your bass face endlessly. And Ok of course this is all good fun. But im kind of glad its not on my FB feed anymore. Im sure hes a lovely guy and i shouldn't have called him a proper clown. But it was all too.lets not offend anyone in any way. If anyone told me my Sei bass was stinky poo i would in a second get over it.
  11. The original bridge was 18mm on these TRB's. So I reckon the HS will have the same string adjustability. Seems like this bass has been adjusted for someones liking of tight string spacing.
  12. Francis Hylton played one of these before his Atelier Z affiliation . about 3 mins in. Wonderful playing wonderful sounding bass.
  13. A lot of years in on this forum im still learning and thankful to the amazing peoples knowledge on here. . Im going to ask the drummer and guitarist to play before our rehearsal. And ask what they hear. I dont mind that my Sei has some quirks (if that's the case) because i love the natural tone of the instrument played finger style. Thats why i waited for 8 years to get it back.. On another note, I love the Genz Benz stuff but Im going back to Aguilar as that was my first love of bass amplification.
  14. Yes you could be right Ped.. I dont slap a lot on it anyway. The neck pickup needed adjusting much closer to the strings so that could be the problem. Will see. I can always use the Lakland Jazz for any slap parts as its an absolute beast.
  15. Well I'm not sure yet as I haven't been to a rehearsal to see if my adjustments have sorted it. I will report back. Thanks for the help guys. Hmm strange you couldn't PM me.
  16. The bass has Labella Stainless Steel's on it.
  17. Hmm. Im not sure I want to know the name of this bass.
  18. Yes the FaceBook one. So someone posted about Rickenbacker basses and what people didn't like about them. Got Deleted. People asked what the problem was. I couldn't see a problem discussing it. Just like I wouldn't care if people discussed what they didn't like about any other bass. I posted and asked what the problem was. Was deleted from the group. Not going to loose any sleep over it. But I've got to say the guy who admins it is a proper clown.
  19. What a bargain James. Love those Glock preamps.
  20. Its ok to have a nod to Marvin. Its still relevant.? We should know in the UK. It was more about the musical content than the lyrical content for me. 9.20 check his voice out. OMG that is proper gospel power.!
  21. Slick stuff from Cory and his band. B Slade with the amazing laid back Sharay on bass. He reminds me of KRS1
  22. Wasn't sure what title to put but i'll explain. I have a Sei Jazz bass. East preamp. Its super punchy finger style through all strings. Flawless. I don't slap a huge amount but I do when I feel a song needs a little. Here is the issue. When I thumb no problem but the pop on the D and G string are getting lost in the mix. They are literally inaudible. Ive tried this through a 210 GenzBenz with the Shuttle amp. Also through some high end headphones, so I know its not a volume problem.. maybe.? Now I have a new pair of Bartolini B Axis Jazz pickups in the bass. Ive set them properly so the treble end is closer. The Bartolini's I had before had the same issue. I have a Lakland 44-60 passive and this instrument has no problems at all. The weird thing is even when I turn the preamp off ( set to passive). It still has the same issue so its not like im EQ'ing it wrong... Still no volume on the pop of the D and G string. Ive got to say I'm a little confused. All I can think of is set the pickups even closer to the G string. Maybe need to set those strings a little higher,(there not super low) as maybe the action is choking the notes.??? Thanks for any info girls/guys.
