  1. There is a Yamaha TRB6 first generation for sale on here for a grand or under at the moment. Not a six string comes close for that money. Imo
  2. Like this.Great humour in the vid too.
  3. Lovely bass. I was expecting to see a P pickup with a J pickup. But its a P Bass with humbuckers. How are the Jazz pickups going to fit. ?
  4. I post a lot of music. it may not be to everyones taste, but listening to music and more music is the best Imo. Then applying it to the bass. Lets face it Jaco had influences, Miller had influences. All the greats listened absorbed and applied.
  5. Originally recorded by The Jackson 5 I think. This is just so groovy. Poogie's drumming is epic as always. Fantasticlaid back playing by Marcus. As for the voice she has. Well its Donny Hathaway's daughter..Shes adopted some eastern influences in her vocal expression on this track.. and ys I've probably posted this before. ✌️
  6. Would you sell outright. I have a Focus 210 and the extra oomph.
  7. Obviously they are. http://schack-guitars.de
  8. I think music was way harder to make and learn an instrument many moons ago and there was a lot less of it..Now everyone and there dog is trying there hand at it. It was only 13 years ago I had a tape player to rewind back to the bass part, then rewind again, and again and again.. I think generally when you have to work harder for it, you get a better result. Not always of course. I will say this, the days of people like Stevie Wonder, Prince, Micheal Jackson, etc have long gone. At least in popular music. Its all become watered down somewhat.
  9. Fantastic 80's record whatever the bass is.
  10. Good vid too. No music reading which is interesting for such a prolific bass player and session man.
  11. Just picked the bass up. Turns out he checked the electronics, truss rod, action, and set it up amazingly for £28. He had the bass for 9 days. The Sei now plays beautifully with the low action I wanted. I can't recommend this guy enough. His name is Lance and is in the Evesham area.. https://www.guitarstudio.co.uk
  12. Jamiroquai's Space Cowboy with Mr X. Just wonderfully creative bass playing..Miles better than Zender's effort. He's just using that basses range to full effect.
  13. Its a different kind of bass playing but Jerry Preston's bass playing on this just superbly funky. This to me is a bass line.
  14. Great bass playing.
  15. Pino's playing on this record is just amazing Imo.
  16. Danuman you just reminded me of this. Probably the best finger style for the record bass playing I've ever heard. Apart from some of James Jamerson's playing .
  17. They seems to have a more hip hop/neo soul slant to some of there music, but yeah I can see that.
  18. There are not many bass lines that can match (Imo) this absolute classic. it seems very simple to the ones posted before, but I think its a bass line that make people tap there feet more. And isn't that what a bass line should do.? I think the former posted above are more bass performances than a solid bassline.
  19. Seems like perfectly relaxed funky soul music to me. 😀
  20. Tis a great album... Dywane Thomas Jnr (Mono Neon) on bass duties.
  21. his playing with Jonathan Scales is just epic bass playing. 1, His finger span is just huge. 2 He rarely plays boutique basses. It either a Yamaha TRB/BB a P Bass or hid KSD 5. Or a Skyline Lakland 55-01 as seen in this.
  22. A short groove from who I think is possibly one of the best bass players in the world today. Depending on your taste of course. Ive heard him come out with fills and grooves that IMO are better than Sharay Reed. subjective of course. The guy is as close to a virtuoso on the bass that I have seen thus far.
