  1. Easy fix, and they will never loosen your nuts on Schaller's. The locking washer. Ive been using these on Schaller's for years and they have never come loose.
  2. Its a sound that very quickly jumps from normal note to octave very quickly up and down. Ive just put on a fresh set of DR's and it seems a lot better. Although one note which is the B on the G string immediately jumps from B to lower octave and back again, but not as bad with the old set of strings.
  3. Personally if the neck kept moving as you say I would have left the truss rod alone. Not your fault of course but adjusting the truss rod, and bending the neck back and forth a few times a week was putting the wood under a lot of stress. Did you adjust the neck under string tension.?? i.e. you can see the neck is pulling toward the E string with the most tension.. But of course its the neck and the builder that is at fault and he should know this..
  4. There £20 Sony cans. The strings are DR high beams, The pickups are Bartolini Jazz pickups. I was under the impression that the MXR was the best for tracking. .. I think its the headphones mostly. Playing and open G it wavers in not a nice way as does the D. But the A string is fine all the way through the sustain. The E struggles also, but that is suppose is to be expected.
  5. Once again Basschat doesn't let me edit or change the vid.??? Well done. Why you have made this so difficult is beyond me.. Why is this so impossible to do.????
  6. From such a great album and musician. Mark Kings bass playing is just superb..
  7. I have an MXR Octave Deluxe. I haven't yet put it through my amp because of noise reasons. I have played it through some headphones and there is some wavering of the octave below way above low A. Should I expect this because of the frequency capabilities of the headphones.? I know these MXR's can go down to low E before struggling to track. .
  8. Fair comment. Like you I do recognise the difference, but choose to overlook it because not all music is produced perfectly. Especially on YouTube. How old are you jack. if you don't mind me asking.?
  9. in my many years (I'm 43) of listening to music I don't think I've ever listened to a record that has been unlistenable..Especially because of the production. I think your being a little over dramatic Jack.
  10. Does anyone think he/his company might have over stretched themselves sales wise and in doing so compromised quality. Im not saying this is the case, Just a thought. Ive owned an Elwood 5 and it was superb. But,.. I went for a meal in Stratford 2 weeks ago. Was awful. Wifes food was cold, food was bad. Next night it might have been wonderful food. Wont ever go back, why would I bother and risk having a crap meal again when there're a hundred more restaurants that will take my money. Reputations can be destroyed with one bad experience. This meal was only £50. Adrians basses are over £1000. This is why builders like Roger Sadowsky are on the top of there game all the time.. He probably understands the power of TalkBass etc also.
  11. Im not sure what strap button the other strap hangs on to.?
  12. Mr Erskine with a Gruv Gear Duo Strap on. Lots of companies make them.
  13. Imo a heavy bass is a heavy bass. You might be able to shift the weight but your back muscles are still taking the weight in a certain part of your back no matter how wide the strap is. That said more muscles in the back to hold the weight are better than less. The double (over both shoulders) strap makes sense to me.
  14. Just bought an MXR octave pedal from Pete and it is literally brand new. Really well packed. Couldn't have gone better. Deal with him total confidence. Thanks mate
  15. That is a beauty. Loving that black headstock.
  16. Had a BBQ this afternoon, and had Original Musiquarium playing and I will always be amazed by the musicality of him and the musicians on this particular record, The horn section, the rhythm guitars , the backing vocals, his piano playing. The bass playing...Its up there with Willie Week's bass playing on Donny's live album, very different record of course. This spectacular playing from Nate is way up there as is Stevies harmonica playing and vocals. Don't be fooled by the shorter version. The full album version is the best. My ears are saying Andrew , you are at 100% musical enjoyment.
  17. My Favourite Christopher Cross record is Arthur's Theme. Is just sublime. Micheals vocals as far as I'm aware are not on this recording. Micheal McDonald's backing are missed quite a lot although his vocals are so recognisable up front. His vocals on some Steely Dan's records are just so very clever. Oh ill let it slide, it its a great record.
  18. Francis Hylton played bass on this record. He told me via FaceBook and he is my new best friend. 😂
  19. Mono M80 is well worth the £. Well protected for sure. Way more storage than the vertigo. Best bag in the business Imo.
  20. IMO. A Fantastic cover of Christopher Cross's Ride Like the Wind.
  21. I'm a little confused about the range of TC clip on tuners. Seem to vary in price. How many variations are there of the clip on tuners from TC Electronic.? Cheers.
