  1. If you get the time. I learn so much from this man. He's well worth a listen.
  2. It' a Lakland. There consistently great basses. They have the same pickups and electronics as the USA made basses. I haven' heard a bad word about them. I had a 5502 and it was fantastic.
  3. Any thoughts on this amp. I like the power, I like the headphone jack and I like the aux for practice. I'e seen one for £299 second hand. I haven' heard the sound. . Any thoughts.?
  4. I love Roy Ayres, seen him live at Ronnies. I love this vid for its humour and EPIC playing of there instrument. What a groove also.
  5. 20mm i would have thought
  6. The V7 has 20 frets. If this is a V7 without the bells and whistles, but keeping that preamp, it will be a great bass. The only issue for me will be the pickup quality and the weight.
  7. The pickups are different from the V7. Same Heritage 3 band pre. I actually prefer the bridge on these. I wonder if they come with D,addarios. Prob asking too much at this price.
  8. why would it be incredibly difficult to replicate the feel of a vintage Fender neck. Take a great luthier, the exact neck dimensions , then sand and oil accordingly.?
  9. No sorry. Dont have the pickguard
  10. The bass is versatile and so is he.
  11. Ive never seen a SR4 with that switch. I presume its a coil switch. There will be some Musicman experts along soon to educate me.
  12. Thanks Tim. I emailed Sire actually. They told me that ash is usually lighter than alder. I always thought it was the other way around. But like you say, it probably depends on the cut of wood/density etc. They also said the V9 is a pound heavier because of the maple top, so that a non runner for me.
  13. Hello all. I read somewhere (Talkbass I believe) that the newer batches of Sire V7,s were a little lighter, as they had shaved a bit more wood off the body and the neck etc, this could be nonsense. I had a V7 5 a while back but had to send it back for financial reasons. Also it was a little on the heavy side. Looking at getting another, or even a V9. But would really like one a little lighter. Has anyone hears this.? Cheers.
  14. For anyone who might be interested. There is a Fender deluxe FMT jazz bass for sale on Face Book for £750. These are worth (imo) £1000 all day long. There quite rare nowadays.
  15. If they look to good to be true. They probably are... £500.? They have Chinese garbage written all over them. Not that all Chinese basses are garbage, but there is a gamble to be taken.
  16. I Have you looked.? I'e seen Delano preamps fitted into a few Sandberg's
  17. I always thought he was a 4 string player mainly. ?
  18. it begs the question, is he doing something different musically. why does he need a 6er.? Not that he cant do what he does on a 6 string bass, but I would so love him to do something different. Not that I don't dig what he does of course.
  19. I suspect Mark would make playing any stringed bass look easy. What 6 string was he playing out of interest.?
