My Hercules broke at the adjustment, i emailed them and they sent me a new one free of charge. There is a thread about the stands and there replacement policy. I had had the old one for 5 years. !!

I suspect he probably knows something we dont.

I do like nickels but I find they take away some of the single coil sound/magic.
