1. I would rather have heard him actually talk about the basses than showcasing his playing
2. I think the preamp alone is worth half that imo. So well voiced.
3.
The way he stains when stood at the microphone he looks like he's permanently trying to 'push one out'...and that's what he sounds like as well. I could never understand how he was rated as a vocalist. He struck lucky that his brother could pen a decent tune, that said, I've never liked Oasis or that whole Britpop thing, couldn't abide it. I did catch the Liam Gallagher set on the Beeb, it was dire.
Ha " The way he stains" unintentional excellence
4. Not really. Gonna be a bit tricky for me to trade a bass with no pickups in it
5. How does your ear learn to "understand" music.? was it the lyrics.?
6. The headstock is different.
7.
Never heard of Schick... Sure it wasn't Schack? http://schack-guitars.de/
Schack are/were German weren't they
8. My Hercules broke at the adjustment, i emailed them and they sent me a new one free of charge. There is a thread about the stands and there replacement policy. I had had the old one for 5 years. !!
9. I suspect he probably knows something we dont.
10.
Why is that?
Because there cheaper, and they have an 18v capacity preamp. Better bridge, more comprehensive eq.
11. I do like nickels but I find they take away some of the single coil sound/magic.
12.
That is no reason not to visit and post on Basschat. You are a bassist at heart, always will be.
This.
13. Gotta love that. !! I wish i had the cash from my Sire for this. These 50th's dont come up very often.
14. I actually prefer these top end MIM 70's jazz basses to the American Vintage AVRi's.
15. It's the one bass I have no desire to own. Don't like anything about it.
16. It's a great jazz bass. New Nordstrand single coils. New Hipshot A bridge. New DR Fatbeams on the bass. Sounds fantastic. 9.2 pounds. It' got a chip in the paint where your arm rests. And a ding under the upper horn. We all know about these basses. I can deliver,or meet up with the bass within a reasonable distance.
17. I forget how old he is now. His playing has always been so very musical. Wonderful bass playing from this guy. When people say, natural talent, this is what i think of.
18. Ahh sorry. me didy missy something. i didnt know they did a 5 string Vintage to be honest.
19. This is the Jazz I'm interested in. https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/V9ALDER5BRS/electric-basses/sire-marcus-miller-v9-alder-5-string-brown-sunburst
20.
No its 509 at Andertons for the same model as far as i can tell ,which is a whole 2 pound saving
Am I missing something.? https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/V7VINSWAMASH5BK/electric-basses/sire-marcus-miller-v7-vintage-swamp-ash-5-string-natural maybe you mean the P Bass.?
21. There alot more expensive than Thomann. Ash V7 5 at Thomann with free shipping is£511. same bass at Anderton,s is £559.
22. Are we talking about the guitar or the bass.? I cant think of the last exciting bass solo, on its own without some chords in the solo.
