1.
it's not as small as the one you posted but K+m make multi-section stands that fold smaller than the average stands, this stand - https://produkte.k-m...one-stand-black with this boom - https://produkte.k-m...-Boom-arm-black would fold down pretty small. the problem is most likely to be that every joint that is added to a stand is another point that can cause wobbles. Matt
Many thanks Matt. That stand might just do the trick. I have sent them an email for information about where to purchase a quick google and found them on Thomann (where else). I will put in an order and report back.
 2. As it says in the title. I need to get a compact foldable boom mic stand. Something like this would be ideal. http://www.rationalacoustics.com/store/microphones/nano-mic-stand-kit.html However it needs to be boom. Thanks in advance
 3. FuNkShUi tells the truth. The Kustom KXB500 is my main amp. I like it so much that my back up is also a KXB500. Thrashed my Puma 900, Markbass 500, Little MarkII and TH500 so moved the lot on. None of them came close to the KXB500. I would buy this in a heart beat, other than I have two of them. GLWS
 4.
Weight is a hefty 4,75 kg.
A tad heavy for me, but GLWS
 5. Tried a used USA Lakland Darryl Jones in a shop in Dublin some years ago.The USA builds are rare and It was the best bass I had ever layed my hands on in 35 years of playing. Light, balanced perfectly, tone to die for and the neck felt like it was made for me. I managed to get the money together within a couple of weeks, but by then it had been shipped to Australia. My only regret in my time playing bass was letting that baby slip through my fingers
 6. Could have sworn I had a blown speaker some years ago, but the cause of the speaker breaking up at higher volume turned out to be a slightly loose spade connector attached to the speaker
 7. Kustom KXB500. Read some good things about this amp on TB, so decided to get one as a back up for my Tecamp Puma 900. Well the Puma has been moved on and the Kustom has ticked all the boxes. It kicks every micro amp I have used (markbass, TH500, GK500, Puma) well into touch and all for €299. Sadly no longer in production, so I am shipping a used one from the U.S.
 8.
Yes.
9.
No it didn't. One Hot Minute is their best album.
no
 10. Great album and a great player. Sadly their form dipped considerably after this album IMO
 11.
Sorry Duff, but Phil Lynott has the Coolest Looking Bassist award in perpetuity.
End of.
 12.
Many great tracks, but my absolute favourite is, Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming, huge fan of the guitar playing of Steve Morse.
So is it going to Black more or Morse then
 13.
Too many to choose – plus it depends on mood/day/weather etc but Highway Star (Made in Japan), Burn (Made in Europe) and Speed King are always jostling for position.
Ah Yes Speed King. Many years ago a school friend introduced me to hard rock with Purples 'Deep purple in Rock'. First song side one is Speed King and that 5 minutes of gut kicking rock just floored me. In a way it kinda changed my life, as Rock music became and continues to be.
 14. Highway Star from 'Made in Japan'. What an Album!.
 15.
Thanks for posting. I'm in the 'Felder & Leadon should have been there too' camp. Poor Tim Schmit looked awkward as hell - he only played on one of the songs performed.
Agree . Without Felder and Leadon its just bubblegum music (3:09)
 16.
The TH500 is definitely one of the weaker Class D amps in my experience . Certainly, the weakest in terms of perceive 'heft' (I hate that damn term!) out of those iv tried. Although rated much higher, the Tecamp Puma 900 was much, much louder with much more presence. The Darkglass M900, rated the same as the Puma, is much louder and punchier again. Big differences between class D heads!
Big differences indeed. Pulled the trigger on a cheap Kustom KXB500 head a couple of years ago, with the intention of using it as a spare. It kicked my TH500 and Puma900 out of the ball park. Since then the Kustom is the only head I use. Punch, Heft , thick tone and lots of headroom. Everything I need.
 17.
And that post to me completely sums up why I don't like HiFi. IMO there is something seriously wrong with the delivery medium when you need to spend thousands of pounds to "properly" appreciate the music on it. And I can't help but feel that you have been conned when it comes to your CD player. The important part of this system is the DAC and I simply can't believe that you are getting a better quality DAC in your CD player, than the audio interfaces used to record or transfer most of the music you are going to be listening to on it. When you can buy and RME ADI-2 Pro which is one of the best stand alone 2-channel studio converters available and does both ADC and DAC for around £500, I smell something fishy.
I got the CD player used for less than half the new price, so the outlay was reasonable and it sounds better than what it replaced (a 20 year old Marantz CD -63 KI signature). For sure one is entering the world of diminishing returns when you go up the food chain when it comes to CD players and there are excellent players on the market for not a lot of money. I got the same feeling when a mate of mine visited recently with a Sire Jazz bass. It compared incredibly well to my NYC Sadowsky, but came in at nearly one tenth of the price. Build quality, finish, tone were terrific and really questioned the validity of the price outlay of the Sadowsky.
 18.
This is my biggest beef with vinyl. I'm sure if you spend £1000+ on your vinyl playback equipment, there will be an improvement, but IMO there is something very wrong when you need to spend that much money in order to get the best out of the delivery medium for the music.
Sorry to say that £1000 for vinyl play back equipment is pretty much the starting point for getting to where its at, in terms of discovering the potential of this format. However audiophiles will often have as much invested in CD equipment. My CD (Primare cd32) cost the same as my vinyl playback equipment (Clearaudio concept, Dynavector 10x5, dynavector P75). For me, they both have their place
 19.
Looks fine, if it plays good keep it, knowing Fender the next one could be worse
Sad but true
