And a Markbass lover to boot. Nice
I reckon a bit of fuzz and synth and an EQ and you'd get pretty close!
Which in your opinion would be best, the MS-60b or B3 (i have no experience of these pedals). Cheers
-
can either the MS-60 or B3 be a one box solution for getting close to the 'Hysteria', 'Time is running out' sound?
-
Has anyone had any success getting close to the 'Hysteria' and/or 'Time is running out' sound with either the Zoom B3 or MS-60B. I am happy with the results I have with the Boss GT6B unit, but it is old and worn out now, so looking to replace it with just one unit with a small footprint

Really really good!

Ordered my Genz Benz NX2-212T cab recently from GAK. They shipped to the Republic of Ireland no problem. Made initial contact by phone regarding this cab and was dealt with very professionally. Highly recommended

I have been working with 2 Markbass traveler cabs since they were first introduced. Small, light, reliable portable cabs I.M.E. With these cabs earth shattering lows are out and they have a bump in the mids. However I found in a gig situation, with no P.A. support they worked really well and never got lost in the mix. Got plenty of plaudits for my bass tone from punters and fellow muso's. The Markbass F500 (no longer available) really powers up these babies really well.
Since you say the aim is to give your vocalist a break, why not take a different approach? One, or more of the rest you take over the singing. I spent years in the 'can't sing' camp. Like most things, it's down to practise and confidence.
a good suggestion and we have not ruled this out. However the best thing about the band is the vocalist i.m.o. (Don't tell the guitar player ). so we are shy of letting the standard drop.

Some great recommendations boys and girls. Keep them coming. I will draw up a short list by the weekend and make suggestions to my band mates. Great stuff and many thanks. I think an important thing to factor in is that the tunes need to be pretty much instantly recognisable by a crowd made up of regular punters out for a few beers on a Saturday night.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Wow! ye guys are setting the bar pretty high, though YYZ is a piece of p**s

PLAYING IN A ROCK COVERS BAND AND WANT TO TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF OUR VOCALIST FOR A REGULAR EXTENDED SATURDAY NIGHT GIG, SO WE WANT TO INTRODUCE SOME INSTRUMENTALS. WE ARE A 3 PIECE (DRUMS, GUITAR, BASS). ANY RECOMMENDATIONS?
Using a different module to the ICEpower thing virtually every other Class D uses will be a good start.
Hopefully the finished article will be as promising as the good start. Anyone got a chanced to demo this little beast yet?
I'd just like to say I've never knowingly heard anything by him before and that cover was truly f*cking aweful. (keep yourself alive). It was like a small kid showing off his tricks. The lack of humility or feel for the original material for an apparent musician is extraordinary.
+1. The original is a great song by a great band (Love that first Queen album), but here it is absolutely murdered. How any self respecting artist can release such garbage is beyond me.

£1599?. At that price it needs to slaughter the Class D competition. A risky pre order IMO. Would need to hear this thing first
Well there we are then. It's just that the way you expressed YOUR opinion seemed to be pitched more as fact.
My opinion is just exactly that, shrouded in subjectivity . Of course all that matters is that I am always right

It's got to be Made in Japan (on vinyl of course)
What if I tell you that for me it's NOT Bolloc?
The curse of subjectivity. Why can't we just all agree?. Opinions opinions.
Not speaking for the person quoted and don't know if I'd describe it as bollocks, there's bits of stuff I kind of like but players like him always seem to have learnt their theory to the Nth degree and then applied it so stagnantly and without musicality. It's almost like they've made music a depressing chore or a science. I can't enjoy music that sounds like it lacks soul and for me personally, it lacks soul. +1 This is it, only I would go as far as saying its Bolloc
Yea Faster faster!!, More more!! yea!. B****X

Played 'Made in Japan' a couple of weeks ago on vinyl with the volume at 11 and It sounds every bit as good now as it did back in the day. It is an honest live recording with no overdubs. The sound on this record is sensational and the musicianship terrific. Fantastic songs. It ticks all the boxes for me. However albums of this era do not transfer well onto CD i.m.o.
It's hardly voodo! Yes, I use mine with my RH450 and am happy as Larry. Just checked and I've had mine for over 3 years with no regrets. Yes, I could have saved a whole pile of cash by waiting 3 years, but it's more than paid for itself in that time. Only last Friday I took it to a gig and didn't want to put it down on the wet pavement by the car - but, at that weight, I could just carry it with no problems! When I compare it to the tears of transporting my Trace 1210 combo, it's simply chalk and cheese... If anyone's doubting, just buy now. If you don't like it, you're likely to be able to make a profit by reselling in a few months. I might be a little more dubious about a head, though. There were too many ergonomic things that put me off the Shuttle heads (sounded fine, though). But there also appeared to be quite a lot of people with niggles. They were all pleased with the excellent GenzBenz service, but without that it could be a different matter?
Tried pairing the Nx2-212T with RH 450 over the weekend and was underwhelmed. Have used it with Markbass little mark II/F500 and Tecamp puma 900, the Rh450 was the least impressive by some distance with this cab IMO

Just took delivery last week of a Puma 900. Gigged it with a Genz Benz Nx2-212T cab and its a fantastic pairing. The Puma has loads of headroom and gives me a lovely creamy low end with enough mids to cut through nicely. Highly recommended
-
It is a good cab period. Paired with the right amp it, for £375 it's astonishing value!. With the Puma the lows sound tight and so uuuumpph!
