You've completely missed my point. I would explain but Skank's post has already done it far more eloquently that I could.
Skank's eloquence is indeed noted, as is your acknowledgement that such eloquence is beyond your capacity, which was adequately displayed by your 'point' (which i did not miss) that my post was intended to be offensive. However eloquence is something well worth striving for so don't give up yet
 2.
But is he Strait ?
Who cares, he covers Zep at his shows. Listen to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ER9i_M7QvE4 Full of emotion, brought a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat.
 3.
Just make sure Justin doesn't find out . He's terrifying when he gets angry : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ij89w9_x8d4 Not just talented but tough , too .
Absolutely, but that sort of behaviour is Dire
 4.
I will be biding my time from now until I get the oppotunity to use that gag on someone else . In the meantime , I've got a coat you can borrow to put over your head to hide the shame ...
Not now. I am just about to listen to a Justin bootleg
 5.
What about Dire Straits ? I'll get my coat ...
Word is Chris Rea is joining Dire Straits on second guitar. The band are changing their name to Diarrhea
 6.
Glad to hear that you find him so erotic ...
I don't but there are plenty who do. Screw Chess but all is forgiven regarding Allan Parsons as he helped engineer The Dark side of the Moon.
 7.
It has all the integrity of a Justin Bieber song, who has also sold millions of records which emotionally connect to their audience.
Yea Justin's last album had me running for my tissues (Toilet tissues!)
 8.
But what if some people do have dire taste in music and I am offended by that? What shall we do then?
My brother tells me regularly that my taste in music is dire (putting it mildly!), Its his opinion, he is entitled to it, but of course he is wrong! No point in taking offence. He's having a beer with me right now!
 9.
Can a song really be so dire if it can emotionally connect to so many people? Dislike a song, by all means, but it's surely pointless to profess a song to be 'good', 'bad', 'dire', 'sublime' or any other description. Or, if not pointless, then certainly offensive to accuse people of having 'dire' taste in music.
Its only rock n roll, rather than matter of life and death. People have opinions on music, should be allowed to articulate them as they wish and so be it rather than be straight jacketed by a narrow criteria of expression. Your insistence that I am out to offend anybody is wide of the mark, OTT and might be viewed as a personal attack on my character, but rest easy as I am not offended by your inaccuracy in this regard. Now time for a beer and a listen to the 'sublime' Led Zep 2. Highly recomended.
 10.
Urgh, what an awful song. It was dire then, and is dire now.
Wow. Dire taste IMO
 11. I dislike this genre of music pretty intensely. Malmsteen, Satriani and co. never rocked my boat. However Vai blows me away!. Loved him right from his debut solo album. His live shows are a thrill.
 12. Its a great version, very emotional. I do however prefer the studio version and it sounds at its best within the context of the Led Zep 4 album which is simply a masterpiece, as was 1, 2, 3, Houses of the Holy etc
 13.
Why has this thread gone on past this post?
+1
 14. My G+L L2000 has a wider neck than a standard jazz, but is quite shallow and doesn't feel junky at all
 15.
Seeing them live at the LoveSuprememFestival the following weekend I consider the best performance I have ever seen by any band live or televised, it was utterly sublime, and yes KD was unbelievably excellent,,,,
Quite a compliment. Saw them last year at the Galway arts festival and it was a great show. The Music was really uplifting and I have never seen an audience look as joyous. As a musician I thought the sound could have been improved upon, but the quality of the performance and the energy of the band ensured that everyone had a fab time.
 16.
That's interesting because I would happily deal with a larger neck if it meant I was happy with the sound. Why have a bass that doesn't have the sound you want for the sake of a comfier neck? Truckstop
It so happens that I love the sound of my jazz. The narrower neck on the Jazz is the priority for me. So much of the tone comes from the fingers, so got to keep them happy. Also prefer the body shape, it just fits like a glove.
 17. Different strokes for different folks. I avoid P basses as I find the necks generally too wide. Love my Jazz basses cause of the skinny necks
 18. This is simply the best bargain I have seen on basschat. A superb hand crafted bass.
 19. Just picked up a used Custom Shop Custom Classic Jazz in excellent condition for 1350 Euro. Fender got it right!
 20.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Thanks, it doesn't look to bad. Yes, it has the passive option. The passive/active toggle is below the third knob. That third center knob controls the active treble, and the lower bottom knob controls the active bass tone.
I would like to fit the active/passive to mine. If by any chance you have any info on that modification I would be grateful

 22. Beautiful bass. Does this one have the passive option?. I have a Fender custom shop version of this coming my way, but it does not have a passive option.
