    I'm home again! it's great that there is a dedicated bass show but all those basses being slapped at once made for a horendous sound, next year I shall go for specific workshops etc. The only Basscatter I passed and recognised was 'bluejay' but she was deep in conversation on the Rotosound stand so I didn't butt in to say hi. Look forward to peoples reports on the various performances over the next day or so. R.

    Thanks for replying. That's interesting I hadn't thought of the winding being different for the two pick-ups, can anyone expand on this?

    Quick question for owners of Musicman 5 string basses with an HH config, does the neck pick-up have the same string spacing as the standard one near the bridge? Thinking of adding another standard pick-up that I have to my SR5 but thought I'd best check that the pole pieces will be in the right place as the string spacing starts to narrow as it goes towards the neck.     I was at last nights Jazz Cafe gig, Norman was on great form and sounding good despite the awful house rig they insist on using at the venue.

    Cheers, it's good seeing the body and neck together, Lawrence has been ill recently but says it's progressed since this picture and is ready for a trial assembly so the last major thing to be done is the finish.
