I've been looking for a new audio interface, and specifically looking at the Focusrite Saffire USB 6. However, I noticed that this could also be used as an interface. Is that right? And if so, would you guys recommend it instead of the Focusrite?
I'm using mine as one and it's fine, but it is only used to input bass, no MIDI or mic inputs so could be a bit less flexible then a dedicated unit.
2.
I just checked my bank account. Sadly I am around £9,900 short
Seller is open to offers
3. Yeah it's a copy of his old 62 Jazz made by The Bass Centre I think, he's used it the last few times I've seen him with The Blockheads. Seeing them again at the Jazz Cafe this Friday
4. It might be worth editing your first post with the new price, as a quick glace makes it seem like it's £1250 ono with the price drop, just a thought that might help with your sale. Good luck, cracking looking bass. R.
5. F**k that was quick! It's yours Mark, e-mail me and we will work out the details.
6. Apparently the fact that the perfectly functional white microwave oven had aged and gone a slightly off (vintage) white colour it had to be replaced with a black one :/ The old one is going to the dump which seems a bit of a shame so if you needs one it's free to anyone who wants to collect it from Sydenham in South London. R.
7. That's a good site, I just did the fretboard test and realised I'm quite slow and sometimes wrong Thanks
8. Looks the nuts, hope it sounds and plays just as nicely.
9.
As seen in the film 'Quadraphenia' now sadly due to be knocked down to make way for a block of flats apparently!
Nice bit of London film trivia
10. I do like a compressor Although they all more or less do a similar thing, they can be quite different beasts, an old Boss CS-1 and a EBS MultiComp are worlds apart. I see you are in London, if you are anywhere near me you are welcome to borrow a a compressor for a couple of days to see if it's for you or not. As mentioned above the Ovnilab web site is packed full of info and reviews.
11. No love for this pedal then? I know it's a g***ar pedal but it does some nice subtle chorus like pitch shifting which is what I used it for or you can go mad and do some whacky dive bomb effects.
12. I
Update on parking, just been having a look, and there`s a Tesco on Shepherds Bush Road, with free parking - for customers only - which is about a 15min walk from Olympia.
I would look into that a bit more as they may insist you spend above a certain amount in store and/or limit parking to say 2 hours
13. I'm aiming to pop along on the Saturday morning. The GAS avoidance plan is to leave my credit cards at home and only have enought cash to get in and buy a beer and a sandwich
14. I like the idea of these but I'm not so sure about the look of them.

MB1 Feedback

Martin bought my Boss CE-2 from me, dead easy transaction and he's a joy to deal with. Many Thanks
17. Subscribed, these sound interesting.
18. Tube map and other travel info from Transport For London can be found here: http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/im/SI-W.html
19. Not exactly an attraction but more of a distraction (for bored kids) is Namco in the old County Hall building almost opposite the Wheel, it's huge but you wouldn't know it as the entrance is quite small and often hidden by the crowds of tourists, you can get a Costa coffee or a beer while the kids have a go on the bumper cars or do a bit of bowling etc.
Top Idea! I've not tried the software yet, love the fact you can import and export patches though
What section should it go in do we think, the Effects one makes sense? maybe ask for it to be pinned, I'm happy to start the thread.
21.
Agree with the museum tips - but a recent visit to the NHM on a weekend meant lots of queues both outside an in, and very busy inside. (Don't go in the main front door of the NHM btw. There is a lesser-known entrance on the east side, on Exhibition Road. If you get to the Science Museum when approaching from South Ken tube, you've gone too far)
Shhh.. don't tell everyone about the side entrance
22.
Got to love the P/J on a J Body. Looking forward to seeing the final results.
It will be my first PJ combination since I had a Westone Thunder IIIA back in the late 80's! I'm know things have progressed a fair bit since the last pictures I posted but Lawrence and I are having problems with e-mails going missing, gremlims in the ether update soon hopefully.
23.
If I hadn't been to London before and only had a day I wouldn't want to spend it looking at bass guitars. I'd check out the tourist things - pick from Tower of London, Westminster Palace, The Eye, Tate Modern, South Bank, Borough Market, Museums of all descriptions - the list goes on of really well presented, top class places to go and see. London is an absolutely wonderful city with a long and diverse history often taken for granted - I know I do as it is on my doorstep.
I'd agree, I love London and if you don't get here very often I would do some of the above and not spend it in a music shop. A travel card, decent guide book and a Sunday in the City of London is always worth while.
