1. It's in the Standing In 'The Shadows Of Motown' song book and on the CD it's played by Chuck Rainey, sadly I have lost my copy but someone on here will have it or grab a copy from Amazon, the bass is panned so you can play along with the backing track or just isolate the bass.
2. In general I prefer my Fender style basses painted a solid colour but I do like a nice piece of wood, I just love the look of this Roscoe
3. Seen him with the Blockheads half a dozen times and he never fails to impress me, my fave living bass player. I still can't play the brill bassline to Hit Me... properly
4. I have a set of 4 Hipshot Ultralites with the smaller 3/8" posts but need the one's with the larger 1/2" posts, anyone out there up for trading? R.
5.
the beard?
"It's something to hang on to" to quote Flasheart from Blackadder
6. I find myself more and more attracted to these as time goes by. Good luck with the sale. R.
7. Top draw rendition of a stonking bass line.
8. Lovely colour and I like the matching headstock. I wish I'd noticed those bridges before ordering a Hipshot, would have saved a fair few quid. R.
9. Little update: Last night a mate and I re worked the wiring using the old Varitone plate but replacing the Varitone element with a standard tone pot and changing the switches with a couple of better quality ones. So now it's wired: Standard VVT 250k pots with an Series/Parallel switch and an On/Off switch that cuts the output to the jack. Sounds pretty good and the S1 style switch bring an added thump to the normal Jazz tone.
10. Great idea! I don't have time to listen to all the links today but will certainly do so over the weekend. I have one remix I did for 'She Makes War' on mine so far but will add band stuff soon. http://soundcloud.com/DiTD
11. Andy purchased a Lakland concentric pot control plate from me, fast payment and good comms. Thanks R.
12. Cheers Mark, I'll save that off and add it to my on going research. Hopefully by the weekend I'll have time to actually pick up a bass a give it a crack.
13. Thanks for the thoughts, all very helpful. I usually play a 5 string so any dropped D is OK but I've never had a fuzz pedal in my life I know the song pretty well being a bit of a fan but for me some of the rhythmic elements are going to take some practice. Thanks again R.
14. Love Buckley and I'm amazed the singer/guitarist picked this one to do but I haven't a clue what's going on bass wise most of the time. Any help would be appreciated so I don't ruin a great track. R.
15. Darn shame, I'm thinking about buying a case for it so I can offer shipping.
16. Final Price drop before having a rethink and possibly keeping it.
17. Have you tried it with your other basses? as it may be slight string rattle as mentioned above, I have an M288 and like most octave pedals it does need a nice clean signal and seems to work best on the A & D strings.

Cheers everyone, I have added it to the (small) list of trades for my Lakland, one shall wait and see if there are any bites.

Sort of like a body done in coloured Hammerite Thanks for the info I've learned a thing or two. I know there aren't many about but what sort of price do 5'ers go for? Promise that's my last question

MM SUB 5

I like the look of some of the colours of the SUB's as it's something a bit different, are they all textured?
