MM SUB 5

All sounds pretty positive, my SR5 was my first dabble at 5 strings and once I was used to them I moved it on, that was a mistake.

MM SUB 5

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. String spacing is probably the most important bit for me, I had a Stingray 5 that played really well and I was thinking of putting a trade option om my Lakland against one but might add a SUB5 to that as well.

MM SUB 5

Calling all Musicman experts, does the SUB 5 neck have the same size, profile and string spacing as a Stingray 5? Cheers R.
4. Such a classy look, love that the scratchplate matches the finish, one of my fave Fender finishes.
5. Cheers, I'm still not 100% sure what the end result is going to be like as the design is still in flux, nearly sorted though
6. It's going to be teal burst so some of the rough finishing to the vaneer edges can be hidden behind the black. Teal is a colour that you either love or hate, I had a MM Stering in that colour that I really liked but many people didn't.
7. Go to the 'members' or 'feedback' section and look up 'Bass Doc' then send him a PM is probably best, I've lost Howards e-mail address. He's easy to deal with and reasonably priced. Good Luck. R.
8. I have this 3 CD retrospective of his work, most of it is really good and worth picking up if you're new to Mr Wobble, he has a great hypnotic feel to his playing. http://tinyurl.com/68ja4vp
9.
Trace the original and mark the screw holes. Then ask Bass Doc to make you a nice new one in the colour of your choice.
+1 Get Howard (Bass Doc) to make you one.
10. At one point I wanted to change the control plate on my Skyline JO5 to stacked knobs like the US version and I ordered and imported one from Lakland in the US it cost me $100, never got round to doing it so I'm offering it up for sale, it's never been used. One thing to note is that according to the guy I spoke to at Lakland this may not just drop in to a Skyline as the screw holes may a little as could the shape where it meets the scratchplate. I also have for sale a brand new Fender blank plate so it's possible to swop all the working over to that if you were thinking of using it in a Fender. £55.00 for the Lakland loaded plate. £10.00 for the empty Fender (I'll only sell this on it's own if the Lakland goes) R.

Owen - Feedback

Just received an ACG 02 from Owen, smooth transaction and a pleasure to deal with. R.
12. I had a maple boarded fretless one of these for years and really regret selling it, this one does look quite sad and as Shergold Snickers says missing the guard with the name on it.
13. Enjoyed my last built so much I'm embarking on a new one. There's a bit of a story attached to this one, it's starting with a body I have had for over 20 years, my Great Uncle who was a retired cabinet maker put a wafer thin veneer on the top of it from odds and sods he had laying around, it has lots of patched in bits so isn't the best looking top, it went in the loft and there it has stayed until now, the Great uncle is long since deceased but I'm finally going to use it, details will follow once I have settled on a final design and talked it through with Lawrence (Henry Norton). It will be a fretless maple necked Jazz Bass, I have accumulated Hipshot Ultralite Tuners and an ACG 02 Filter based eq so far. Watch this space for more details!
14. Hi, I have just been looking on the ACG site and although this is for dual pick-ups it's seems it can be used in single pick-up basses as well do you happen to know if that's correct? Thanks R.
15. Bought a G&G case from Rich. Probably the quickest deal I have ever done, from agreeing to buy the case to delivery was under 24 hours! In excellent condition, well wrapped. Many Thanks
16. Due to the fact my bank account has taken a bashing recently I have reduced the price a bit to make this lovely bass more tempting.

discreet

I bought Marks treasured 1976 Fender Precision Bass from him yesterday, I think there was a tear in his eye as I left his house. Lovely chap, easy transaction and a pleasure to deal with. R.
18. Blimey! up until a year ago I worked in the same street as Coda in Luton and I don't remember them stocking all those Custom Shop basses back then.
19. Hmm.. I see what you mean, it's a fair way from anywhere I get to.
20. Bump for added meeting up locations.
