Weird question I know but I have a Musicman Sterling and it smells fantastic, I also have a Stingray 5 but that's odourless, I was wondering if it had anything to do with the back of the neck which I'm guessing is treated with wax or oil to protect it. Any help would be appreciated. R.

I had a quote of $35 postage for a strap for Bass Central in Florida! R.

I bought a NEOTECH neoprene strap from the States recently and it helped with the weight of my Stingray 5. R.

Recently got hold of an EVO 500 and I'm liking what I hear so far, I like Marmite to! I wonder if it's down to musical style whether folk like them or not? R.
Depends on whether you want to do it in person, but my head is almost brand new, no makrs, never gigged, still has box and booklets, and ears - 4/5 months old from off the shelf. I'd say £210 cash plus your hartke for my amp if you come up to birmingham and get it? infact, 220 with ears.
Oh I didn't know they were worth that much, I'll have to pass but thanks anyway. Sounds like a good one - good luck with selling it. Regards R.
Hmmm.. I'm tempted to buy this and sell my little mark to make some cash which is sorely needed. Odd mixture of screws, suggests it was opened up for repair?
I thought the mixed screws were because it had been in a rack not repaired, it's only the corner protectors that have odd screws. I wouldn't mind trying a Little Mark 2, Maybe we could strike a deal, how much cash would you want if we traded?
Crikey, thats a silly price for a 3500! Has it got the stock preamp tube in it? I bought mine with the upgraded preamp tube (a 12ax7m) and I would choose it over Ashdown anyday, but horses for courses etc. The Hartke 3500 is a great amp - ive had mine and gigged it regularly for over 2 years now and it has never once given me any grief and never had any reliability issues. Good luck with the sale.
Hi Luke, Thanks for the kind words mate. Yes as far as I know it has the stock tube in it, I bought this amp from ebay a while back and it has served me very well, I could put it back on the Bay and probably get more for it but I'd rather someone from this forum had it for a reasonable price, plus I avoid their fees. R.

Hi, I had this amp head up for sale a month or so ago but withdrew it after all the Harkte fans convinced me it was better then the amp I had bought to replace it, I'm still not sure what one sounds best but the 'old school' VU meter and the handy 'mute switch' on the Ashdown swung the vote. There are a few scratches on the top of the casing and an odd mixture of screws holding the corner protectors on (none of this would show in a rack) otherwise it in good full working condition. £170.00 Collection form South London (possibly Luton) Sorry no postage offered at the mo' R.

If the guy talks like he writes you may need to take a translator! Good Luck.
I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but I'm sure I recall that it was played it in E and the track was varispeeded to F (or maybe the bass was tuned up a semitone). Its certainly seems a lot easier to play in E.
I'm sure you are right about that Mr Pickguard, I read that somewhere to - possibly in Bass Player Magazine.
There is an awesome article in this months sound on sound about the recording of that album. Interesting read to say the least G
What issue is it in? I had a quick look in Smiths yesterday but SOS didn't seem have that article in it. Cheers R.

I use Steinberg's Groove Agent, it's kinda like a software drum machine with real drum samples and lots of built in patterns each variable in tempo, complexity, feel etc. great for practicing to. R.
This is the best close up i've seen of the bassline being played, good luck i'm still trying to nail it myself. I've tabbed some of it out but only by hand sorry, if theres any parts in particular you need tab for I'll try but I ain't no Watt Roy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nv9c_C6hfLk Check out this other guys stuff he's a bit bonkers but a killer player.
Wow he's good! I found this online but I'm not sure if it's correct. http://www.911tabs.com/link/?3667839 R.

Not the TAB but Norm playing the bass line solo, which might help with learning the part. http://www.theblockheads.com/download_medi...lays_hit_me.mp3 From memory I thinks it's tuned up half a step on the recorded version. Regards R.

Sorry to hear about your troubles and I hope you get your money back, I bought a Neothech padded strap from these guys in the States. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/mult-e-plicity Great price and it arrived in under a week with no duty.

I recently took up 5 string after many years only playing 4's and find the string spacing fine on my Stingray 5, it's the extra weight I struggle with during long rehearsals.

That's a nice looking bass especially for the price, with no dots on the neck it's crying out for a de-fret.
