I like that Selah Poitier track

Complete change of direction for me and I'm only playing smaller bodied basses with a 32" scale necks these days so up for grabs is my sparkly Jazz Bass body. I'm pretty sure it's a Squier, it was sunburst when I got it, I stripped it and painted it (BBS alloy) gold then applied a clear lacquer, my refinishing skills are mediocre at best! weirdly the pictures look better than the real thing it has some orange peel and the gold doesn't shine quite so well in places plus I even managed to get a couple of black flies in the finish but from a distance on a dark stage it would look great. I'm including the scratchplate and the J&D pick-ups. £40.00 delivered to the UK mainland. PICS HERE

Warning you'll need shades
Bugger, why didn't one of you buy it before I caved in! oh well I needed a new project to think about and if it's turns out to be basically sound then this will be it.

EXL170's are my string of choice, they just work for me.

BAX have the little compressor for just under £80 shipped by the looks of it. HERE

Please tell me why I should avoid getting a Rickenbacker!
Rumple replied to Al Krow's topic in Bass Guitars
Go for it if it's what you desire and can comfortably afford. Reasons for not buying it would be because you can't sell it on BC if GAS gets you 6 months down the line and you need to move it on. -
Mine runs at 24v internally from a 9v supply plus it's a limited edition so has the gain toggle switch on a dedicated foot switch. I think I can adjust the high gain output on an internal trimmer too. In another quirk the pedal was 'missed' from the Peach Guitars order list so once the original owner was told that they 'forgot to build his pedal' the guys at Hudson basically asked him to 'custom design' his pedal so he went for an all black case with the silver skirted knobs. My Broadcast looks more like the Overdrive 999 but with the Broadcast innards. I've not had much time with this pedal as I was off on holiday two days after getting it but will be giving it plenty of abuse upon my return. First thing will be adding rounds to the p bass to hear the differences. I can say I think it's gonna be an always on pedal for me. I'd be keen to hear your views too. Maybe we need a new thread for this little box of magic?
Sorry for the late reply, I've only just noticed it! I've been using mine at home with a Boss graphic Eq after it which makes for a nice sounding setup, I've just ordered a Mesa Boogie Subway DI, the the two together might be overkill or sonic joy.

I got it a couple of days ago when clicking on a BC link to Photobucket.

Limelight necks - are they as good as they look?
Rumple replied to project_c's topic in Bass Guitars
Mark made me just a Jazz neck with a Precision logo, very nice it is to. -
Looks like it won't be available until August according to the Thomann web site.

I looked at that video the other week, I'm not overly keen on the distortion sound but that's something I use rarely so would be fine for me. You get a lot for your money, 4 band Eq, simple compressor, DI and a noise gate.
I will be doing a silk screen version of the VT1-EQ-DI-Mk2 but with the current PCBs it will be impossible to get the switches on the top and the valve inside without using a larger box.
That's a shame but understandable.
just a space model of the new VT1-Std-Bass Mk2, will be silk screened. Controls are I/P level, Gain, Level and Colour - Bright and Colour switch. The jacks and power connector are at the top of the pedal. 120x145x60mm
Looks great are you doing a similar mocked up layout with the VT1 DI EQ?
Speaking of mini...what chance any manufacturer producing a 200W+ pedal board power amp? Something this sized, but geared to bass players: http://www.quilterla...e/microblock-45 I suspect this would create a storm!
I was close a few weeks ago... But prymaxe won't ship Tech21 pedals outside US and I'm not paying the UK price for one! Bought a used vt bass deluxe instead for my IEM setup...
I also had a look at a US store but it was the same, they wouldn't ship it outside the US, $250.00 is a lot cheaper than £329.00 even after import tax and VAT!

Has anyone bought/tried one yet?
That would be ideal, but I don't know how well it would go down with the Mrs.
Have two necks made for it and swap them over occasionally.
