1. Status has changed to 'item not yet available'
2.
The configurator is a work in progress and doesn't offer all their options. Email Adrian and I'd be very surprised if they couldn't do what you want! Si
Cheers, I'm positive he can it's just a case of me trying to hold out as long as I can for the sake of my finances, I'll be powerless once the configurator is complete
3. Luckily for my bank balance I couldn't quite get the Elwood spec I'd want so I closed the browser rather that hit the 'buy' button, I'm sure in the coming months when more models are added I'll be in trouble!
4. I've had a couple, a VT1 and VT2 and they were very good indeed but ultimately I moved them on due to needing a dedicated power supply. I wasn't a fan of the Jackson Pollock style paint jobs. The proposed new range could be very interesting depending on the route you take, a VT1 Mini would be a great addition
5.
That does an awful lot of things for £83. If it does at least some of them well it'll be a bargain, anyone brave enough?
Looking at the website they aren't in stock just yet but due in a few days, unless I change my mind (always a possibility ) by the time they are available I'll be getting one.
6. Colour me very interested, thanks for the heads up
7. The surf green J&D Jazz Bass I once owned was really great, I still have a bass with a J&D neck and pickups. The neck is a little chunky for my liking but that's just a personal thing.
8. It's going to be pretty rare to stumble across someone who wants that exact combination of stomp boxes, best bet would be to list them individually
9.
Just heard from Mark, my Limelight (no.199) is ready! Looks great, apparently the close up body/pickguard photo is the most accurate indication of the true colour. Will post some more photos up once it arrives! Can't wait :-)
Very nice indeed
10.
Hi Rumple, What's the nut width of this neck? And is it a C shape / profile?
Hiya Marc, Nut width is 38mm and the profile is a 'C' It's a standard Limelight Jazz Bass neck but has a Precision decal as I had it made for a P bass I had at the time. Cheers R.
11. I sold Ed my SR5 neck and he was a real joy to deal with, super fast sale
12. Very nice, you should add it to the 32" scale thread HERE
13. Some great recent additions to this thread - keep them coming!
14.
Buy this: http://basschat.co.u...precision-neck/ Job done...
+1 but then I would say that wouldn't I
15.
I'm getting a Streamer 4 stripped (original poly black) and refinished in white for £170 by a local Luthier.
That's a good price, is it going to refinished in Poly or Nitro?
16. A top quality job can be pretty expensive, the best Poly one I've had done was by Bow Finishing down in Surrey, it was £300 when I had it done some 5 or 6 years ago, that was a bare body with no old finish to remove!
17.
PM'd
PM replied to.
18.
Ì kept saying to myself, please don't be a maple board!!!! Oh no!!! I want it
Ha Ha!
19. I kept this neck from a SR5 I had as I loved it so much, I planned to have something a bit more like a US Sterling body made to pair with it but recently I've discovered I prefer shorter scale basses so sadly this is now not needed. It's pretty rare to see one of these come up fro sale! The neck is from an early 90's USA SR5, it has some really lovely birdeye patterning and the finish has aged to a nice yellowy orange, smooth and very comfortable to play, it could do with a bit of a clean if you are into pristine, as you can see from the pics the strings have made some marks to the fingerboard, they are less noticeable when it's strung. Truss rod works fine. Comes with the original MM tuners and string tree. Any questions ping me a PM, if you are local to Sydenham in SE London you are welcome to pop around and take a look at it in the flesh. £350.00 delivered to mainland UK PICS
20. You could add a switch so the pickups can run in series, I find it's a useful option on a Jazz bass, like using the 2 pickups as one humbucker.
21.
Thanks Dave, hmm I'll give that option some thought but to be honest would prefer a finished neck. Drilling the tuner holes might exceed my woodworking skills! Ian
For an extra fee they will cut the headstock and drill tuner holes for you, but my thinking was that by the time you've paid for all that and import duties then you might as well see if you can find a UK Luthier to make you one.
22.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I'd be interested to know as well. Apart from Warmoth, are there any other aftermarket suppliers of 32" necks or is a custom job the only way?
I found these in the US but I haven't given them a go, I think they quoted about $50 to ship to the UK, if you try them please report back.
23. I bought a Hudson Electronics Broadcast pedal from Ross, faultless transaction with super fast delivery
24.
It plays rather nice too. You can set the low gain channel to respond very well to playing dynamics. Once I get back home I'm gonna put rounds on my p bass and hear what it does. Good things I'd imagine.
I've just picked one up from the For Sale section on here, it arrives today Out of interest do you run yours at 24v? Sorry for slightly hijacking the OP's thread.
