This looks very interesting indeed, simple but effective. Well over three hundred quid though so it would need some serious thought before purchasing one.
Here is a link to my site in the US that you might enjoy. Also a pretty rare collection of medium scalers, including PRS #11 - also the build threads where applicable. The Rob Allen is short scale the others are medium scalers: http://www.innertainment.net/ And a little dissertation I wrote about playing the bass that fits you. http://www.innertain...net/medium.html Hope you enjoy! BassHappy
Thanks for the link, some lovely basses and plenty of reading material right there.
Yes, I'm definitely interested in it Rumple. Looks a nice bass More pics please. I hadn't realised there were many options in 32" scale....
The body once had lots of stickers on it so there are faded areas and some glue residue here and there but it's a nice MIJ 80's bass

My recently acquired Yamaha BBVIIs I'll try and get a better pic of it up at some point if anyone is interested!
Just spotted this. Is it new? Anyone seen one? 32" scale Squier with rosewood neck, 42mm nut. https://www.pmtonlin...-signature-bass
It's a bit of a strange shape, I'm not so keen on it.
Hey folks... ...it's only gone and won No Trebles 's "Bass of the Week". That's twice now . Wonder if we can get Mick's new build in as the hat trick?
Congratulations!

You might be right, shame really as it's probably the best Jazz Bass I've owned, I'd definitely keep mine if I hadn't fallen in love with 32" scale basses. I agree they look better with minty scratch plates

Great basses but then I would say that

I bought a Yamaha BBV11s from Ash, easy transaction, well packaged and the bass is great

Limelight Jazz/Precision Neck *SOLD*

Due to only really playing 32" scale basses these days I'm having a clear out, up for grabs is a lovely Limelight aged Jazz Bass neck, it has a Precision decal on the headstock as I had it made to go on a Fender Precision body. It didn't dome cheaply at over three hundred quid but the work that's gone into making it is excellent, even the fingerboard edges have been rolled so it really is a joy to play. Comes with the 60's style strap button on the back of the headstock and string tree. [s]£260.00[/s] [s]£240.00[/s] [s]£220.00[/s] [s]£207.00[/s] £200.00 delivered to the UK mainland. Might possibly trade against a pre-amp DI pedal or 3 band Parrametric EQ pedal. PICS HERE
Hi all. Great thread! I have been looking into shorter scale basses myself lately. Can anyone suggest any (fender) jazz style 32" scale basses, available in the UK, that I could try? Cheers.
Unfortunately I can't think of anything you could just pop in to a guitar shop and try, I think Bass Direct sell a few Maruszczyk's but the last time I checked they didn't have any 32" scale ones in stock.
Can't comment on the Jake but my Elwood is def slightly smaller body size than my Fender US Dlx J5 - frankly I would've liked it even smaller though.
That's what I like about my two, they both are like a Fender that's been shrunk in the wash by 5% -10%.
I've got one to use for home practice. It's great. Very useable although I've not used the DI. Even the can sim and the FX are okay.
Cheers for the link.
I've got one to use for home practice. It's great. Very useable although I've not used the DI.
I came very close but ended up going for a Zoom B3 instead. I watched a YT video which was pretty comprehensive and while there were a couple of good sounds in there, I didn't really rate any of the distortion sounds so it wasn't the one box solution I was hoping for.
Thanks for your thoughts, much appreciated. I'll be doing some more research before deciding what to buy. I have a Zoom B1on that I can use for a bit of dirt so I might get a clean only pre.
I have just got this 32" scale Jake & it is fantastic!
Out of interest is the body on these slightly smaller than a standard P or full sized?
-
I wonder if we could get a Basschatter group discount if we all order 32" Maruszczyks!
Interesting idea, I guess it would only really work if there was a limited run 'Basschat' spec 32" scale bass?
here it is...Biggie !! Super light , really nice neck. Pups will go soon , thinking at Haeussel to replace them. It needs some neck adjustement from my luthier but overall very good condition. Found a nice JB sound turning the lows all the way up on the preamp...Highs used like a tone control but generally a bit harsh. This one is definetly goin to be passive...and maybe I will add a P pup in the middle.
Nice bass, congratulations. I actually prefer the look of it without the P pickup in the middle, I have no idea how these are wired but it might sound great in series.
