I've got one of these sitting in the bits box and have thought about putting it in to a pedal but I have no idea how to do that exactly as my electronics skills are pretty poor

I love the idea of using wood from your parents old house

Up for sale is my Fiesta Red RW Jazz, it's been my main bass for a good few years and I love it but recently I've discovered I'm much happier playing 32" scale basses so this isn't really getting a look in any more. Note that the neck is non standard, cutting a long story short when I imported the bass from the US it had a slight twist to it so I had the fingerboard removed and the Maple plained flat before having a really nice new dark Rosewood board with clay coloured dots and truss rod fitted, this was done years ago and it's been stable ever since, it's an absolute joy to play, with low action, the only down side is an aesthetic one, the Rosewood behind the nut is a bit chunky and could have been shaped a little bit better (see pic) it's not noticeable from a distance but I thought I should mention it. Comes fitted with a fetching pale mint green and the original tort scratchplate and aged thumb rest. I'm in Sydenham South London and you are more than welcome to come and try the bass out. [s]£680.00[/s] [s]£620.00[/s] [s]£600.00[/s] £580.00 now including UK mainline delivery. I do have a large cardboard box so insured postage to the UK mainland at buyer cost is an option, quote on request. I could do with recovering some cash really but I could be interested in trading against a MIJ Fender/Squier 32" scale Jazz Bass or 32" scale Maruszczyk Elwood.
He does say that in his listing to be fair
Thant's very true, I'm happy with the one I purchased, it was about £50 cheaper than a very similar one I imported from the US a couple of years ago, very quick delivery to.

I've got one, well a Jazz Bass one, it's not bad, especially for the price, certainly better than your average plastic one, only the top layer is Celluloid though.

I bought a lovely MIJ JB62M from Benedict and the transaction couldn't have gone any better, highly recommended

I'm trying to work out if the 32" scale Elwood's have a reduced body and neck size, comparing them using Photoshop seems to point towards the body having slightly different shaped top and bottom horns but roughly the same over all size as the long scale version. The headstock actually seems longer on the medium scale. Maybe the pics have been slightly distorted to look nice and uniform in the web gallery. Could anyone shed a little light on the matter please?

Greg bought a Precision Bass body from me and he was a joy to deal with. Many thanks Greg!

I spent ages putting a Precision bass together with a Limelight Jazz neck, as lovely as it was I for some reason that fails me don't get on with P basses, so I recently got a Jazz Bass body and used the neck on that and I'm much more at home Up for grabs is the white over sunburst abused body, tasty partly Cellulose and very expensive pickguard, aged screws and aged knobs, I loved the look of the front of the body but thought the back was a bit OTT so I stuck a couple of stickers on there, I'm not sure how easily they would come off. I have absolutely no idea what make the body is or who sprayed the white over the sunburst etc. it was an ebay purchase that came with no info. The pickguard I imported from the US, the top layer in Cellulose, it's a major step up from a plastic one but not as good as a Spitfire one. Knobs and screws are from Madison in the US. £150.00 delivered to the UK mainland. PICS HERE

I have an notion to convert my cheap Bitsa Jazz Bass to medium scale, ideally I would have just picked up a cheap neck from Ebay but try as I might I can't find a Fender shaped neck in 32" scale. So my question is has anyone had a custom Fender style neck made for them in the UK for a reasonable price?

I'm pretty sure Norman uses one so they can't be bad
Good idea but I really like the sound, weight and balance of the bass. It's also been through a lot with me so I don't want to Trigger's broom it. Just give it a new outfit.
I can totally understand that, good luck with your quest. Not used them myself but you could try http://www.retro169.co.uk/

Just a thought but why not buy a white body from Ebay swap all the parts over and sell the sunburst one, that way could well be cheaper that any refinish A quick search flagged up this one HERE
