1. ... and here's a second hand one for sale in London for a reasonable price. Here
2. I've had this in my 'watching' list on Ebay for a while, I have no idea if they actually have one in stock or not but it might be worth contacting them if you're prepared to travel to Sheffield. 3. I agree, UPS via interparcel have always been good for me. Hermes are to be avoided, their insurance doesn't cover musical instruments, they have failed to pick-up on two occasions, take ages to deliver and have lost stuff in the past.
4. press 'edit' down in the right hand corner of your post, then 'full edit' you can then change the tittle.
5. The Fender experts will be along soon enough I'm sure
6. It would quite difficult to check on a vintage style Fender where the neck needs to be taken off or at least slackened off to get access to the truss rod at the heal.
7. Dean bought a Jazz Bass neck from me, very quick payment and he is a pleasure to deal with.
8. I have a slightly later Squier JV Strat and can vouch for the quality of these instruments. GLWTS
9. I have an old Squier JV Strat, I use whatever setting I can actually get a sound out of as the switch is rather temperamental these days
10.
Oh I've got the 566 thingy, but I can still make a mess of it; of that you can still be sure.
Me too
11. It's tough keeping control of a Dremel, I found one of these useful recently. http://tinyurl.com/DremHelp
12. I look forward to seeing the pics. Could you shim the neck pocket so the bridge doesn't have to set really low?
13.
Is it a 5 screw fixing? Can't quite see from the photo
Yes it is a 5 screw mount, 5 fixing screws and an Allen Key for saddle height adjustment included.
14. High mass type bridge bought from Ebay for a project bass but I decided not to use it in the end so I may as well move it on. 19mm string spacing. [s]£8.00[/s] £7.00 via PayPal 'gift' or bank transfer, price includes UK mainland 2nd class postage.
15. I bought this Jazz bass neck from Ebay in the spring to fit onto a Precision body, I used it for a few months then decided to go down a different route so it's now up for sale. Slab fingerboard, dual action truss rod adjustable at the heal, decent bit of flaming to the maple, vintage/yellow tinted lacquer, frets ends are nice and smooth. There are a few dings on the end of the headstock, I applied a home made decal which was lacquered then applied on top of the neck lacquer so it can easily be scraped off if you don't like it or want to replace it, I used a little wire wool to take some of the gloss off of the back of the neck and front of the headstock, nothing drastic and I'd imagine it would polish back to gloss if that's your thing. It a really is a nice looking neck that plays well. £60.00 collected from Sydenham in South London, sending via Hermes will add about a fiver, UPS nearer 10 quid. 16.
Well I had it out last night...
Thanks for the update, very useful and I'm glad the 6er working out for you.
17. These are left over from my recent spate of J and P builds, I'm pretty sure they are Wilkinson WJBL200 Tuners but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. They are configured as 5 in a row but the are easy to change if you need 4+1 or 3+2 The dimensions match the pic grabbed from the internet. I can't find the fixing screwa but you can pick a pack up very cheaply on Ebay. £20.00 delivered by Hermes to the UK mainland (other couriers are available at the buyers expense)
18. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts after you have used it in a band situation.
19. I don't have a B3 any more but I did try it out once with Reaper and it was OK, have you tried recording with none of the effect on? I think on the main setup page you can adjust the output volume, it would be worth checking that as well, if the signal is too low it could sound muffled when recorded.
20. I should be seeing my mate (guitarist) tonight who has a house in HK so I'll ask him for you.
