2.
woud i get it through customs on the way back!?
TBH I don't know as I've not tried it before, it might be worth reading this thread if you have the time.
  3. It's true I do mostly play 5ers but this P and my RW Jazz are getting a lot of love at the moment so neither will be up for sale in the near future.
  4.
OK I'm jealous - I've heard those demo'd and they sound pretty sweet and rich! https://www.youtube....h?v=lFasRbajFy4
I would have made the same choice had I heard those comparisons before buying the SD Antiquity
  5. Second hand from Ebay, all I can remember is they were based in Milwaukee. Maybe take a holiday to Florida with an empty bass case? http://www.basscentral.com/musicman/fretless1.shtml
  6.
anyone had experience of ordering ftom that states? What are the taxes involved?
I bought my Road Worn Jazz from the US a couple of years ago, VAT, import duty and the £10 Parcelforce handling fee added about 25% to the total cost.
  7. Look what just arrived from the US
  8.
https://www.facebook...ukerbassguitars Scroll down to the white headless 4 and you'll see where my Moses neck ended up. Weighs about 7lbs. Punchy as hell and plays easy.
That's very nice indeed, just needs another string
  9. Just picked up a second hand B1on, I had a bit of a mess about with it this afternoon and it's great, I actually prefer it to both of the more expensive versions from Zoom I've owned!
  10. I did a trade with Carlos recently and it couldn't have been easier or gone any smoother.
Rolf Spuler also designed the Ibanez Affirma bass.
I'll look them up - thanks.

    Make/Model?
Not a clue what that is, but its the most ugly looking guitar I have ever seen! What happened to the headstock?! It looks like it broke off!
Ha Ha I think it's like a Kubuki (spelling?) bass where it had a little extension on the fretboard on the E string so you can have a low D.

    Make/Model?

Out of interest does anyone know what the make the guitar in this video? You can see it quite well at about 44 minute in when the guitarist takes a solo. I'm not sure if I like it or not but it's certainly different, out of curiosity I'd like to know more about it.
  15.
I really struggled using a pick so now I pick with no pick! I use my first finger and thumb as though I'm holding a pick but pick the notes with my nail for the downstroke and fleshy/end part of my finger for the upstroke. Works really well and feels more 'connected' to the fretboard than if using a pick.
That's the only way I can do it if on a rare occasion I need a pick tone.
  16. I have no interest in seeing picture at all as they might cause me to spend money I can't spare ***edited for grammar***
  17. Welcome to BC and bass playing, plenty of tips and info to be had on here - enjoy
  18. Fast 16th note patterns, I've been playing for 35 years on and off and still can't do it, I like to blame it on being left handed but playing bass right handed but it's probably just lack of talent
  19. There's great satisfaction to be had from putting a bitsa together and it turns out great! sometimes they just don't work and other times you end up with a real gem that you feel an attachment to, that gamble is part of the fun
  20.
Hi Rumple. That's a REALLY nice pick guard. With tortoiseshell, it has to be good to look right...this looks perfect!
Thanks Andy
  21. I do lust after one of these, they look and sound amazing, maybe one day.
