1.
Big and exciting news i have chosen the pickups for the build and ordered them! They are special indeed.
More info PLEASE
  2. Are they G3's? also does that price include postage? Thanks
  3.
I find a magnifying glass makes seeing the shape of the nut slot easier.
+1 If you can get one on a stand even better, it really helps a lot with accuracy.
  4. I had one of those for a while, the strings had been change so I'm not sure if that helped but it sounded huge if you played over the neck, in the end I moved it on as I struggled with the rubbery strings.
  5.
mmmm - not according to this !!
Or this Crazy money!
  6.
Was that from the Channel 4 programme 'Wired' (as I think it was called)?
That's the one, I've got a wobbly copy of it I transferred from the VHS video recording I did at the time. I'll have a look at that Parade link once I've got some work out of the way
  7. I sold Bobby my Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass, what a thoroughly decent chap to deal with, the transaction couldn't have been easier
  8. I quite like the body shape and the binding sets it off nicely.
  9.
I saw him on the Lovesexy tour in 1988 and it was a bit of a disappointment.
That's one tour I wish I had been to see, Some of it was shown on C4 back in the day and although it's well OTT it's a good watch.

    Decals

You could get waterslide decal paper from Ebay and print your own, it only really works 100% if you want a black decal though as colours are transparent, on the plus side it's cheap & you can do a test on normal paper 1st then print loads of variation a each sheet of A4. Here's my effort.
  11. Oteil left after i bought tickets but before I got to TTB at the RAH Tim Lefebvre doesn't really do it for me. I'd like to see Pino play with John Mayer.
  12. I didn't know that either! I thought it a shame that Oteil Burbridge left the band.
  13. I had one of those Ebay 'dots and bound' necks on my bitsa P bass for a while, very nice it was too.
  14.
Hahaha! I also love my Limelight P bass. I was close to pull the trigger on this bad boy But now a friend of mine is having it
Interesting, when I asked about a dot and bound necked Jazz he said he couldn't do it, maybe that's changed recently? or only available on a P.
  15. I'm a ig fan of Prince too, some of the 90's stuff is awful but otherwise an amazing body of work.
  16. BUMP for a price drop and the possibility of postage.
  17. I bought a set of J&D pickups from Paul, great comms throughout, fast deliver and a joy to deal with.
  18. Very kind of you, not a problem if it doesn't come to anything. Here's what I'm after. Antiquity II™ for P-Bass® / 11044-16 Thanks for asking your mate.
  19.
@Rumple. I called Rosetti and they will not sell direct and the prices on their site are the RRP, I was told to go to a Seymour dealer and get them to order it for me
Fair enough I guess but if it were me and you don't mind the wait I'd order from the US, it's less then £90 including delivery on Ebay, if you do get stung for VAT, import duty and the Parcelforce handling fee it's still going to cheaper if it sneaks through you have yourself a bargain I understand though that some people don't like doing that as it does make returns a bit of a 'mare should there be a fault with the item.
  20.
I have scratchplate GAS. This is ridiculous.
... and I thought it was just me, I spend the best part of a week gong back to look at it before realising the GAS wouldn't stop until I bought one.
  21.
I am looking to get one of these as soon as they comes to the second hand market...
But...
  22.
Very tempting....
New toy for the Bank Holiday weekend maybe?
These are great basses and despite being active, still have that essence of the classic Jazz sound (but on steroids). GLWTS!
Thanks
  23. It's this one, I couldn't resist even though it's a stupid amount of money to spend on a scratchplate, I'm guessing it will take 3-4 weeks to turn up.
  24. Me neither, I'm after a SD Antiquity 2 pickup for my Precision and it's more than double the price of buying one from the US on Ebay, even after paying VAT and import duty it would be a darn sight cheaper from America, it doesn't make sense!
