I picked this up recently as part of a trade but in truth I'm not much of a fan of sunburst basses and prefer passive basses, I might use it as the basis for some modding as I like the idea of the rear routing and the neck looks and plays great but being sunburst I'd always feel the need to refinish it and I'm discovering I'm not so good at that It's in excellent condition, it's had a scratchplate added which I think help a lot with the aesthetics of the instrument, if I keep it I'd change it to a black one but that's just my personal preference. It's got a set of cheap and cheerful round wound strings on there at the mo' as the original owner kept the flats he uses. No case or gig bag included. £[s]160.00[/s] £150.00 Collected from SE London, if you REALLY wanted it posted I do have a standard coffin shaped (bass size) cardboard box I could pack the bass in but I'm not sure that's enough to protected it from the abuse couriers seem to give parcels, so you'd be responsible for organising a courier to collect it and the level of insurance you wanted. Possible Trades: Telecaster guitar. SR5 neck, block and bound Jazz neck, Zoom B1on, 5 string Jazz body, SD P or J Antiquity pickups or Hipshot Ultralite Clover tuners. The gold paint arrived today which pushed me in to action, I spent an hour or so in the garden with 400 grit Wet and Dry sanding the primer as smooth as I can it. [attachment=190453:IMAG0769 lr.jpg]

I use them to learn cover songs for the band along with anything else I can get my hands on, dots, TAB and chord charts... I also like to watch some Youtube footage of the song being played live by the original artist if at all possible.

You can use either a push/pull pot in the 1st volume pot or fit a mini toggle switch somewhere. So as I was not totally happy with the results and thinking I remember filler/primer (back in the days when I fixed my rusty cars) being thicker than both types I'd tried I bought a different brand and thankfully that's a lot better, so now I've got a much smoother looking undercoat Below is a pic after the last dregs of the can were applied, it will need another light sanding (400 grit I'm guessing?) before any colour is sprayed. After weeks of indecision on a colour to do this I've finally ordered some gold alloy wheel aerosol paint, I suspect that for a beginner it's not going to have been the best choice but I have always fancied a gold bass, I thought I'd stick with Motip paint as their Primer was far superior than the other two I tried. Fit an S1 Switch or if you are OK with a soldering iron just wire the pickups in series and see if you like the sound.

We used Kafri Studios yesterday for the 1st time and all went well, there's just 3 of us and the small room we had was fine but would be a bit of a squash if there were more of us, they do have bigger rooms so we may try one of those next time. It did smell a little bit damp but nothing terrible and usual for places like this in railway arches. The Ashdown 4x10 combo worked and sounded fine as did the PA. The guy running the place was friendly, helpful and professional. Location wise it was easy for me to get to by train using the Overground service to Hoxton then a short 5 minute walk to the studio's location, weirdly there don't seem to be any pubs nearby despite the fact the next arch along is a brewery! The other two band members drove and parked outside the entrance, there is also plenty of street parking but there was a wedding at the nearby Mosque so it was busy.
