I've always fancied a Sandberg even more so now!

I think the place in Korea is the manufacturer and they would expect you to buy hundreds rather than just one pair, it's a shame as their catalogue show some nice pick-ups.

Me neither, they might well be an Australian company as that's where they ship from, shame if they are as you may get clobbered with Customs charges if you decided to buy some.

I've not seen pickups like those before, could it be the Luthier made them himself? Another thought is could they be replacements for the originals? just wondering as the routes seem a little different to the shape and size of the pickups. I'm sure someone else will be along soon enough to tell you exactly what they are:)

Did it with a J&D Jazz, worked a treat, I used the low four strings from a D'Addario light gauge 5 string set and only had to tickle the fret slots to get them to sit nicely.

I'm no expert but red is more likely to fade in sunlight then most other colours, plenty of pink Vauxhalls about to prove that!

I'm pretty sure it's a 5 string bass of some sort

Kept the new can of filler/primer indoors this time and also bought a better product so it went on much easier On the down side my prep work leaves a lot to be desired and after a few coats, some rubbing down and a few more coats there still plenty of dings and scratches showing I thought the filler/primer would be thinker than it is and cover more imperfections then it seems to do, it's certainly better but not nearly good enough, I need to decide if I should sand the whole thing back to the wood and start again or get another can and keep going with the spraying and sanding, what do you guys recommend? I know nothing about the workings of pedals or very much about Eq but I'm guessing they haven't got the settings for a flat sound quite right but luckily it works perfectly for you - result Do you have the facilities to record some sound clips?

I keep thinking this is finished then today I go an order some more aged parts, namely a thumb rest, pick-up screws and strap pin for the back of the headstock.

In the pic it looks redder then Fiesta which tends to be a bit pinky if my Road Word Jazz is anything to go by but you won't know for sure until it turns up as photos can be deceiving when it come to colour. Do you know what make the body is? FWIW I quite like the off white scratchplate

Andy [/quote] Another top tip from Andy! great idea, although the white ones wouldn't work for me as I'd need some white under the word 'Homage' to get a solid grey or yellow but clear areas everywhere else, plus cutting them out would have to done very carefully, I'll definitely try the clear ones in the future though. Another plus to your stickers is because you don't use water there's no chance of the ink washing off the surface of the decal as happens if you try soaking water slides unvarnished. Dave

[/quote] Slight error in my thinking and a school boy error TBH! decals are clear [u]not[/u] white and you can't print (on an inkjet) in white so what looks like grey with the backing paper in place is actually a light tint of black, when in place on the headstock the centre section of the decal only has the effect of slightly darkening the headstock colour, it actually looks OK but is pretty cheap and cheerful compared to a properly printed decal. I'll take a snap of it later, I varnished the decal before applying it but haven't varnished over it on the headstock just in case I change my mind and want to replace it.
