1.
Jason Falkner has had a long as somewhat sporadic solo career, which has produced some very, very fine albums. Can You Still Feel & Author Unknown are particularly good, as is The Grays album Ro Sham Bo. Sadly the Grays only ever managed the one album, but it's a cracker. Jason has also done a lot of work as a producer and some that that stuff is worth tracking down - he usually ends up playing on some of the tracks on whatever album he's working on. He was heavily involved helping Brendan Benson in the early days of his career. Roger, I think, is still working with Beck, but turns up as a session player in a lot of places. The big one is Andy, and that fact that he just doesn't want to play live anymore. I believe we was writing a lot of children’s TV theme tunes for Disney & Cartoon Network for a long time, but hasn't put anything out under his own name since the demise of Jellyfish, that I'm aware of. He was involved with a band call the Merrymakers, which was quite good stuff, if you can find it.
Thanks for the info I'll try and track down some of Jason Falkners solo work and give it a listen.
2.
There one of the best bands I've seen live. What great players. Mannings career has produced some amazing music. I think he's still with Beck
It would be interesting to know what else the various members have gone on to do.
3.
Should sound great with the Wizard Pups and Kiogon kit.
Excellent point, I have a Wizard PJ set in my fretless that sounds the nuts, not tried a Kiogon wiring setup but might go that route on the next bass.
4. Nice colour The stacked knobs is a good idea rather then adding an extra volume pot.
5. I bought Bellybutton when it came out and it's nice to hear some of those tunes again, I probably wouldn't buy any more though.
6. Nice stuff, I particularly like the middle section of 'Panda & Koko'
7. I'm not playing at the moment so it seems wise to move on some of my high end gear, 1st up is my MXR Bass Compressor, such a great bit of kit, like a quality rack unit crammed in to a pedal. In excellent condition with velcro dots on the bottom, comes with the box and manual. £115.00 delivered to the mainland UK. Trade wise only I'm only really interested in a Zoom B3
8. The cream coloured one looks very nice indeed, even better with a different scratchplate IMO Should be quite light having a chambered body.
9. Paul bought my Tanglewood Travel Bass, we met up locally to do the transaction and it couldn't have gone any smoother
10. I bought a couple of J&D Jazz pups from Alan, they arrived very quickly and comms were really great.
11. Welcome to BC! I've spent a bit of time in Perth over the years and still have friends who live there, I must get back there sometime for a visit but being freelance these days makes those long holidays a thing of the past.
12. I like to use a little bit of compression all the time on my fretted basses but I could live without it, at the moment I use an MXR Bass Compressor which is great but the Diamond was the nicest sounding pedal I've owned so far. I also have an old Boss CS1 which is a bit of a weird pedal but works well on fretless as an effect.
13. Cameron recently bought a Mono strap from me, payment was very fast and comms were great
14. I've managed to acquire a supply of cardboard and bubble wrap so I can now offer postage
15. I'll be keeping my eye on this build
16. Really looking forward to listening to some of these later on today. There are loads of great grooves but I thought I'd contribute this: Little Beaver - I can Dig It Baby http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yReDe5-rTIU
17.
Yes, the finish is original. It's called Metal Flake Green and they only made it for a short time around 1999/2000. I read somewhere that it wasn't very popular... I love it!
I like it too
18.
Might a Sans Amp BDDI be a suitable trade?
It might have been originally but I'm getting in to using my Zoom MS60B more these days and liking using the pre's in that, thanks anyway. I'll adjust my trade list.
19. I wouldn't go anywhere near it
20. Very odd listing this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-1966-FENDER-JAZZ-BASS-J-BASS-ELECTRIC-GUITAR-/141460045206?&_trksid=p2056016.m2518.l4276
