1. Starting the bidding at 99p seems pretty risky unless they pull the listing at the last minute if it only makes a few hundred quid.

3. That's right up my street. Thanks for sharing
4. Thanks for the update Jim, no point in rushing a build, if you are anything like me once one is finished plans for the next one start so the more you can drag it out the less you spend
5. Paulo just popped around and bought my Squier VM Jazz 5, very smooth transaction and a nice guy to deal with. R.
6. I thought I'd post this lint just in case there's any Norman Watt-Roy fans out there that would like to get involved in funding and even being in one of the Blockheads videos for the new album. http://tinyurl.com/BlockheadsOiOi
7. I'm rehearsing at Mill Hill Studio's on Sunday 15th September and I could take the VMJ with me if there was any interest from you guys north of the river
8.
I found these guys recently. Anybody on here bought anything? http://www.at-the-creamery.co.uk/
Pair of guitar pups just came up for sale. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/216425-fs-curtis-novak-the-creamery-jazzmaster-wide-range-pickups/page__pid__2200926#entry2200926
9. Nice touch with your Nan's name on the headstock my fretless has my Great Uncle's (he worked on the body) initials on the headstock, they are a lot smaller then your MIM will be though.
10.
Pimping a squier is no good as I want a rear routed setup.
I think they do or did do a Squier 5 that is rear mounted but the rest of it may not have suited your needs. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/squier-deluxe-jazz-bass-active-v-5-string-electric-bass-guitar
11.
There is nothing like playing a bass you made yourself ! Its not a cheap way of getting a bass though, just the hardware alone can match the price of a good 2nd hand bass.
You should know
12. If you can find exactly what you want or close to it with a couple of mods then it's probably more cost effective to buy a factory bass, plus it would be easier to sell on if you decide you don't want it any more. For me having a bass built or put together from bits is about getting something I just can't buy from the major manufacturers. I've started collecting bit's for a Jazz Bass 5, to save money I bought a cheap 5 string neck from ebay which I'll have re-profiled to my liking. You could get a Squier 5 string Jazz and pimp that with the pick-ups and pre you like?
13. Plenty of trade offers so far but nothing I fancy, ideally I'd like a cash sale.
14. My fretless is wired like that at the moment, just the P pup straight to the jack, sounds a lot better then when it was active.
15. I bought this from a fellow Basschatter last week as I'm hankering after a five string Jazz Bass and I heard great things about these, it's true that it's a fantastic bass, looks the part and plays really nicely, as always with me I love the look of something and buy it knowing full well that I don't get on with anything over 17.5mm string spacing the neck is nice and shallow so I expect if I lived with it for a while I'd get used to the wider spacing but then going back to my trusty SR5 would feel odd. I'll just have to have a Jazz made with a SR5 profile neck as that's the only way I'll be satisfied It's over 10lbs (can't remember exactly) so is no lightweight but I think that the weight in the Maple body may be why it has a nice tone, the action is set low and it's in perfect condition, plus it comes with an almost new case. I think with a tort plate and standard plastic knobs this would be an even better looking. At this stage it's collection only from South London as I'm out of bubble warp, tape and cardboard for shipping but will sort that out if I have no takers willing to collect. £200.00 (which gets me my money back) There's not much I'd take in a trade, maybe a G&L L2500
16.
RATM = Standard & Drop D Audioslave = BEAD (I'm not into them, so might be other tunings too) Si
I see, same bloke but different band, so I was about kinda half right
17. Knowing me I'm wrong but I thought I read somewhere that he played a 4 string tuned BEAD? and if he does I would have thought that would have made a bit of difference to the over all sound.
18. spelling mistake aside I like that the lack of punctuation makes the ad read like this "sadly in mint condision"
19.

One of my fave songs - love it. Really looking forward to the London gig later in the year.
20. Graeme bought a set of half round strings from me, fast payment and good comms, trade with confidence. R.
21. Keith sold me his VMJ 5 and the deal couldn't have gone any smoother and the bass is in tip top condition
22. Lozz sold me his Mono M80 gig bag, it's in great condition and he even delivered it personally, perfect transaction Cheers R.
