1.
If it is good enough for Juan and Tommy it is good enough for me.
That's a fair point I've also realised I have a Jazz type bass with no scratchplate or control plate either (rear mounted pots) Whatever you decide I'm sure it's going to look great.
2. Back in the 80's I always took the scratchplates off my Jazz basses as I preferred the look but now I think a Jazz can look a little naked without a scratchplate, our very own Bass Doc (Howard) could knock you up one that fits for a very reasonable price.
3. Andy bought my CS-3 with the Monte Allums Opto mod, fast payment and an all round smooth transaction. Cheers
4.
Bass is looking lovely. Really nice light top, I imagine you cant wait for it to be finished!
Yes and no, I do enjoy the whole process of going from the seed of an idea to a finished bass so I'm not in a busting rush for the experience to be over although I'm very excited about finally getting to play the beast. Dave has done really well and the build has come on in leaps and bounds recently but progress will appear to slow down now while he finesses the body and also holds down a day job
5.
I saw a quote of yours from 2011 and it said I'm not too fond of Buckeye Burl Made me chuckle!
Busted - I'm so fickle! I also avoid red things like the plague but now have and love a Fiesta Red Jazz Bass. In my defence does it not go on to say I like the burl on a particular Roscoe though? It's this that changed my mind.
6.
That is looking fantastic Loving the back just as much as the front!

I love the back even more than the front. It is just a slab of open and honest wood. It is lush beyond. Don't misunderstand, the front is very nice.
It is a very nice piece of timber, almost a shame to be covering it up on the front.
7. Nice
8. Burgundy Mist? not to everyone's tasteI know but I think it looks cool with a matching headstock.
9. So are you spaying in white or powder blue?
10. Thanks, I'm very excited by the build, I'm so glad Dave managed to cut the control cavity so the same wood could be used for the cover it will mean the back will be pretty special looking to.
11. Dave's been busy recently and made quite a bit of progress on the body

15. Tony bought my Polytune pedal from me, it was a hassle free transaction with very fast payment.
16. Price drop to £50.00 until 8am on the 30th. I have to go to the post office to post another pedal so a bit of a discount to hopefully sell this and hopefully avoid 2 trips
17. It's not for me I'm afraid, I can't get on with 35" scale or 18.5mm string spacing, that's why I sold mine Still the nicest bass I've owned, I'm sure it will sell quickly.
18. I'm going to have them passive to start with so that will give a good idea of what the pick-ups sound like without the addition of active electronics.
19. Pups arrived today from Allan at Catswhisker Pickups, they look great so I thought I'm take a quick snap of them along with some of the other hardware, a Gotoh tuner and the Hipshot bridge.
20. Lucky man.
21.
The scratchplate is just really just a template for the neck joint / pickups for Jim to make one, it was a scrap one that I had kicking about and you are right, it looks a bit thin on the lower horn
See I knew there would be a perfectly good reason
22. Dave sent me a this pic of the body blank now he's cut it out.
23. I had one of these for a while, in the same colour to, it was by far the nicest sounding bass I have owned. Good luck with your sale.
