1. I had a go at the Oleta Adams tune a few weeks ago - Thanks.
2. That's made my afternoon
3. That's definitely the ad with the least amount of info in it I've ever seen Beautiful wood nicely photographed though
4. That's a thing of beauty, I loved the look and tone of the Century I had for a while, nothing has come close before or after.
5. Here's a recent picture of the body now the finish has been re-done, it will be another week of so before Lawrence can flatten and polish it. 6.
This was from Guitarist magazine a few years ago. It had a guitar-free and bass-free track as well as the complete track. They ran a series of bass-free tracks for about 12 months back in 2000.
Just found this CD in a draw and you are right it has a version of the tune sans bass track, sadly all it does is show how badly my attempts at learning the line are
7. Without pictures it's hard to be 100% but these usually have 3 band eq not 2. BTW forum rules state you must put a sale price for your bass Good luck. R.
8. I do have a soft spot for these, it's the only bass I truly regret selling but £800!!!
9.
That does sound intriguing. Where can I find the kit, online presumably?
Yes, he's US based but postage is cheap enough as there's no weight to the parts. http://www.monteallums.com/pedal_mods.html#cs3opto Pretty sure I got the Opto Plus mod in mine.
10.
Boss CS-3 is pretty useful. Just got one the other day and and it focuses my sound a treat - I sound much better in the mix than before! Keep the sustain below 9:00 though else it kills tone.I think they go for about £50 used. I got mine from a mate for £20 and a pint
That's a great price for a CS-3, if you are handy with a soldering iron and fancy upgrading it they can be modded with one of the Monte Allum kits to turn it into high end pedal.
11.
This has made my day. I'm now in a mellow mood. Thanks hugely for posting!
If only there was some more.
12. Just stumbled across this and thought I'd share it, there's a very short interview with both of them at the end of the song. here
13. I haven't watched Jools yet but I did get some free tickets to see Adam Ant live in 2012 at the Troxy in East London and it was a pretty good show, the most amusing part was seeing people in the crowd dressed still dressing as Musketeers, French maids ...
14. Wow!
15.
may end up going back to cubase cos reaper is being a pain in my balls over one thing which I need!
I'm no Reaper expert so will not be able to help but out of interest what can't you get Reaper to do?
16. Now that's not something you see every day.
17.
Yeah... The thing that really puts me off ordering overseas is the hassle if you ever need to send it back under warranty. Add a third party into the mix and you're probably entering a world of pain...
Bit of a gamble and there's nothing I need that desperately to take the risk. tredders has got the right idea of picking it up in person while work pick up the cost of the flights.
18. There is a way around it that my mate used once to get a Custom Shop Strat, I'm not sure I'd do it but it worked for him, basically there are companies in the US that will forward on a purchase for you, you temporarily register your credit card billing address with them so the goods get dispatched to a US address, the company then send it on to you for a fee with whatever customs info you supply to them.
19. Maybe I looked on the wrong web site as I didn't spot any vintage Telecaster basses but I did spot this 65 Jazz in my fave colour combination
20. Thanks for the info
21. I sent Rob at Status a message and he said you can get a satin finish to the back of their necks, it's an additional £40. Looking at a few pics on Google it looks like the Status necks have jumbo frets rather then the smaller ones on the original MM necks is that true obbm?
22.
[sub]It's not so bad when it reads 'Stingray' on the headstock, but when you have 'Sterling' no one knows it's a pucka EBMM.[/sub]
It's crazy having a high end model and a whole budget range with the same name.
23.
Ebmm are the cheap ones, see sig below
Very good
24. Sadly I'm completely out of funds and space until I get around to moving so gear on neat year.
