True, I'd buy a second hand US one rather then a new Sterling, maybe it's just a combination of the economic climate and supply outnumbering demand.

I did wonder if the introduction of the Sterling range has had an effect on second hand prices?

I don't know if it's possible but could it work that the fee charged to list and item for sale is a percentage of the price the item is offered at? so a set of strings being sold doesn't cost the seller the same as someone selling a top end bass?

Hi Ped, I vote for keeping the old system and implementing points 1-5 as listed above. I'd be happy to pay a yearly sub as I tend to use the forum to sell, trade and buy quite a bit but maybe a 'per ad' payment system would be fairer? Cheers R.

[/quote] I think that was a lucky for me as it's going to look nicer with a smaller burst, not so lucky for you who has had extra work to do.

The fretless ebony board on my Overwater still showed markings from round wound strings after light use, but as you say a lot harder then Rosewood so a better option I think.

As you suggested I used Gravatar which didn't seem to work at first as it only put their logo up not my avatar but after about 5 minutes it was ok so thanks for that. Oddly this thread seems to be jumping about and being repeated, I posted it in 'General Discussion' but it now seems to be in both 'site news' and 'introductions' :s

All has been fine for me (although I'd seen many people say they can't upload pictures) until the other day now I can't upload any photos, not even to change my avatar, I've deleted some of my old images and have plenty of space left on Basschat, has something changed with the site? I use Firefox but tried IE to without any success. Any thoughts?
