1.
PS - your sax player did himself proud.
Ah the penny has just dropped, I only caught the supports last couple of numbers, what I heard was very good though.
2. He was very good wasn't he, I actually said to my mate he sounded better then the great man himself! I assumed it was a bit pre arranged, all the people who got up including the girl who sang were quite good, what's the chances of that? Changing the subject a little I was surprised at how much the bass end was held down by the keyboard player, it sounded huge so I'm not complaining
3. Thanks Pete, you are probably right, the 122 looks interesting as well as it's 4 ohm so just the one cab for the full output of the F500 hmm....
4. On a day when I should really be sitting in the garden soaking up the last of the summer sun I find myself surfing for lightweight cabs and came across the Mark Bass New York 4x6 Does anyone own or have tried the 604 and care to share their thoughts? it's small and lightweight but does that mean it lacks depth? I did try going Neo once before with an EBS 212 but sold it for something more traditional sounding it seemed quite agressive and had a mid range focus, I play in a rock covers band. R.
5. Out of interest does anyone know if you can custom order say a 34" scale 5 string with 17mm string spacing? tell me you can't as it would one day save me a fortune and I can put one of my many cases of GAS to bed
6. This pic just popped up on Twitter from Sandberg and might be of interest.
7. Don't let my wee job get in the way of you finishing this beauty, I'd rather see this first
8. You could look at a Hipshot Type A I'm pretty sure they do an 18mm spacing version, I got a 17mm one from the USA via Ebay.
9. +1 I've just fitted Status Halfwounds to my SR5 lovely halfway house between flats and rounds but closer to flats.
10. Looks fantastic as far as I can tell from the pic so far.
11. I had a set of those in a custom Jazz 5, loved 'em, sound good in the Warwick to.
12. If that Sterling is Teal I had exactly the same model a few years ago, I sold it to a Basschatter so it's still out there, in Belgium I think.
13. There has been some trade interest but still available.
14. Roscoe's are lovely basses and that Buckeye Burl top is gorgeous
15.
also some amps/preamps etc already have similar things built in....
I think I read somewhere that Mark Bass amps have a similar thing built in, I can't see anything about it in the hand book though.
16. I can see how that works on square pieces, smart idea. The way that Sei is done is really nice with the contrasting wood between the body and top wood, combined with a small body shape I think this would work for the Buckeye Burl I have. Cheers
17. That sounds just the ticket! thanks. I should point out that I'll not be doing any of this myself, I will get my trusty luthier to do the work but needed to be sure it's do-able. I'm full of ideas but no practical talent
18. Basschats 'Bass Doc' (Howard) will sort you out a custom scrathplate.
19. Here's a couple of pictures, with the buckeye rotated 180% (not how I wanted to use it) so the small end just about covers the body and the large end covers more of the horn which works better, it's still a bit short but as I'll be having a small bodied bass made with it it might just work Still interested in any ideas/thoughts guys.
