1. More useful info thanks Roland Rock. It's actually 5/16th inch thick so a bit more then a thin vaneer, I used the word vaneer as a loose term so as not to confuse it with a huge lump of wood, I should have been more descriptive. Should I still put it between some MDF? Cheers

3. So I won IMHO some lovely bookmatched Buckeye Burl laminate on Ebay this week, it's coming from California and has been air dried for a few months, as I doubt I will be using it straight away, how should I store it? does it really matter? Any help would be much appreciated. R.
4. I'm no expert (far from it) but maybe try getting the frets dressed? along with a set up from a good luthier that could solve the problem.
5. That is a lovely colour for sure.
6. Bought a Bongo 5 from Paul, very easy transaction, bass in great nick. Cheers R.
7. Bought a Bongo 5 scratchplate from Dan, fastest, easiest deal ever! Cheers R.
8. Thanks for that, I'm off to see him at The Clapham Grand next month
9. Thanks for the kind words BigJim, much appreciated. I really love the finish on this, the way you can feel the grain through the lacquer is great, supurb instrument that wouldn't be up for sale if it had a narrower & shorter neck.
10. At some point I mean to have another bass built for me to my spec by a UK luthier and recently I have been trying different basses out to finally decide what I do and don't like in a bass, I got this in a trade a few months ago, I love the way it looks and it sounds great but I can't get on with the 18.5mm string spacing, not dots on a neck or the 35" scale so it's time to move it on. In very good condition apart from a ding in the neck (see pics) it really doesn't notice when you are playing.
It appears that in the manual, you can power the pedal via the USB port too.
You can that's how I power mine
13. Stunning, just love that top
14. Nice! I specified those individual bridge saddles on my Perception, I think they look great. Good luck with your sale.
15. I'll have to guess instead as I don't get on with flats. Good luck with the sale.
16.
but I'm now in a rock band
Tell us more Mark?
17. It's been a while since I did an update on this so here goes: Due to some cracking in the finish meaning the lacquer on the body needs to be re-done I'm changing my mind on the final look, although there is a lot of patching on the applied veneer and they will show I'm going to have a much smaller burst next time so more of the teal stained veneer shows. So a minor problem I think will result in a better looking end result.
18. Although not essential I think it's a nice touch and I would add it if you have the time.
19.
As far as hardware goes it will have a Duncan SMB4a, the preamp which EmmettC kindly sold me which I think came from his Stingray 5 when he updated it
Ah I remember now, I bought the pick-up leftover from Emmett's SR5 upgrade, I decided not to go ahead and add it the my SR5, it's winging it's way to Machines now. Is there some sort of fomula for calculating neck dive or is it just hit and miss? in the future I'd like to get a very lightweight 5 made but as you point out this may cause neck dive problems.
20. Lovely lovely looking SR5, this was mine for a short while, I only moved it on because I have one with a maple board which I prefer to rosewood. Good price to. Good luck with the sale/trade greyparrot.
21. Oooh this is going to be good. What hardware and electrics are you going for?
22. Wow! what a lovely finish, nicest looking fretless SR5 I've seen in a while.
23. Thank goodness I'm always a little more then tempted by this when it come up for sale.
