1. have a Silver Series Precision... my son's 'borrowed' it again... doh! A fantastic P Bass... for £150 it's a deal! I've seen them go for £250 plus.
2. I want one!
3. That is super! I'd have put on some 70s machines... lovely job though but. Edit... oh... and a tort guard, tugbar/thumbrest... chrome covers (remove them for the cool holes!) Dare I say a J-Retro?
4. I have gas for one of these, especially after I had to let my 68 Ray go... Don't see them that often in the classifieds.
5. Keep it... or... sell it.... you decide. If it was me I'd keep it. I have one already.
6. Cor! What a beaut! The J-Retro looks great with the Jazz knobs... must fit them to mine.
7. I recently A/B'd one up against a RW Jazz and a Custom Shop Jazz... I was interested in the RW at the time as it's a (almost) direct replica of my 62 Jazz. The RW (£900) came out on top closely followed by the CV! I was floored by the lovely feel and the stock pups, really captured the vibe nicely and I loved the glossy neck finish. The CS was miles behind these two (£1200)! Would make a great replica project bass.
8. leave the holes... already too many screws... play it!
9. Absolute classic look and finish... I've wanted one of these since I was a kiddy. Superb!
10. Oh my... can and worms are two words that spring to mind... A Jazz of course, hang on, I mean a Precision.... no wait! Jazz.... NO! A P Bass... yes... no... erm... I'll get back to you.
11. Congrats... they're great basses.
12. Looking for the piccies...
13. Looks delicious... wouldn't mind a bit of that meself! I'd have to bang on some vintage style machines... it's a thing with me.
14. Very nice Mikey... I'd keep it stock. Maybe a tort guard... Super.
15. Single coil and vintage string thru bridge... maybe. Pricey though.
16. Yes... looks very nice.
17.
I'll have to take a photo of mine lying on a duvet cover for comparison - nice bass
I had to drill out the holes for the bling, easy enough. I just wanted the old vintage vibe. Turned out to be a really lovely bass, plays and sounds ver nice indeed. Cheers
18. Hey! That looks like mine... 2002 MIM P bass.
19. No! tort will look horrid on that blue... stay with the white or mint or pearl... I swapped out the machines on my 2002 model P as the originals were a tad sloppy. I also added chrome covers and tugbar for the vintage vibe. They really are super if you find yourself a good one.
20. Lovely story... some nice peeps out there still...
21. I have been using rounds on my fretless basses for years... rosewood boards... no probs.
22. I would have to be bonkers to spend 3 grand on a beater pino, I don't care how good they are! I would find it hard to justify £900 on a RW Precision, which I quite fancy.
23. New Japan prices are around £800 so seems okay to me... although £500 would be a deal. Great basses, always fancied one.
