1. Nice! Squier CV 60's would make a good starter for a rep project I reckon.
2. I've been gassing for this for years now... might have to get a replica made. I'd prefer a stacked knob arrangement though.
3. Call me old fashioned but I'm none too keen on guitar/bass hybrids. I like telecasters but not the bass variety unless it's a 'proper' tele bass.
4.
So why is there a Fender decal on the headstock?
It's a replica....
5. By MIM I take it you mean the 62RI? The closest I've come to the feel of the RW is a Squier CV Jazz. Not tried the 62RI meself, although they look very nice and are a bit cheaper than the RoadWorns.
6. Tis a thing of beauty - I'm as green as a green thing. I admire John's attention to detail, notice the single screw tugbar.
7. Very lovely... congrats.
8. White pearl will look the business... nice.
9. Looks ver nice... bit pricey though.
10. I love John's basses and have been on at him to make me one... I'll have to wait for funds though his prices seem ver reasonable. Great score... you will enjoy.
11. Yes... super. I like the white/cream? guard. Tort may look nice too.
12. Gorgeous... congrats. Play the crap out of it.
13. Dunno, but the CV will be closest to your 62RI.
14. http://www.bravewood...dJbasspage.html Damn that bass page...
15. This thread is about MIM... no?
16. Fender dealer in Reading? "Been Inspected By Local Fender Retailer And Confirmed As 1970's..." Worth chasing up? To be honest I'd prob leave it and put it down to experience. I recently got bitten on the bay and had to swallow it.
17. Bought one blind off the bay a couple of years ago, as I needed a passive bass for some festies. Thought it might be a pig but I was pleasantly suprised. Did some light modding, mainly cosmetic although I swapped out the machines for some Wilkos. Just put a new set of 66's on it... super.
18. Yes... I hope he chokes on his beer tonight.
19. It is not legit. You were misled. Hope you didn't pay too much for it... looks like it could be a nice bass.
20. Halfway... I'll eq on the amp... usually.
21. Here you go... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/NASH.html Cheap as chips.
22. I recall the CV suffers from the ubiquitous routing trench, which is a real shame. I was going to get one and add the dual concentric pots control plate, matching headstock, covers, reverse machines, and a defret. Might still have a go when funds allow.
23. Cheers Milty... Yes... it's got an East in it, superb sounds. In my yoof I managed to 'lose' most of the original parts including the frets. Might do a total restore on it one day. Ant... those CV Jazzers are superb, would make a great start for a replica project.
24. Call me an old git, but I 'm not keen on these 'classic guitar' shapes for basses.
25. Here's my totally ruined (by me) 1962 Jazzer... I love it.
