I play a heavily modded Fender Jazz, it's fretless with a J-Retro and a bog standard fretted Precision... they are completely different animals, I love them both but they do different things.
Yes... was such an inspiration to me. I was fed up with playing and was really down with bass generally, then a friend gave me a copy of his album 'Liquid Glass' with japanese bleep miester Yoshihiro Hanno...

I decided there and then to defret my 62 Jazz and I haven't looked back. He really turned me around.
I owe him...
Found this with Phil and Pete

RIP Mick.
I think I'd err to the CV. The HWs have the same hardware as the MIM standards (?)
I have a 2002 MIM P and, although it's very nice, I find the frets too big. (I'm used to playing fretless most of the time). I like the idea of the small frets the CVs have.
Congrats spongebob... I've serious gas for the blue one. I was going to defret it but the necks on these are too nice ( I love the gloss), plus I think, after a fretless, the small frets might feel quite tidy.
Give us you review and have fun.
I reckon the stock pups on the CVs sound pretty good. I think the hardware is okay too but I love the look of the vintage machines on these...
These on a CV P.
I would say, if you're playing this song with a band then you'd have to nail it, otherwise drop it from the set.
As a bit of mucking about is okay though.
