1. I've had gas for the sonic blue CV P for a while now... they're lovely basses. I love the glossy necks on these, not everyones cuppa. I think the neck finish on the VMs are more satin.
2. It's an iconic bass line... of course! It's one of Norman's. I have never attempted to play it, it's sacred to me.
3. Heh... that'll keep you fit! Swap out the white for tort and put on some proper knobs and it'll look better. Looks like my P on the left.
4. Hmm... looks to be a nice example. I wonder how it plays and how heavy? Not so keen on the colour scheme, and I hate the strat type knobs on a Jazz bass. Sonic blue refin I reckon! Does £1200 sound about right?

frets

I took the plunge and had the frets on my 62 Jazz stoned down to the tangs... my luthier was very, very reluctant to do it but I pushed him. It was a case inhabitant for a decade and a half, now it's my fave player.
6. Hmm... when I swapped mine out for the wilkos I kept the original bushes.
7. I have my side markers in the regular position... lately I've taken to using Blick self adhesive labels but they tend to move or fall off after an hour or so...
8. I've been using rounds on my fretless basses for 30+ years, no probs.
9. Rounds on a fretless is absolutely fine... I really don't know why people bang on about it being the opposite. I reckon the CV Jazz would be perfect for a fretless conversion.
10. I don't see why not... I had my Jazz frets stoned down to the tangs. Never looked back.
11. +1 for the Squier... I play a 62 Jazz fretless and I'm looking at one of these as a backup.
12. A quick (temporary) fix is to jam a toothpick tight up against the nut.
13. Yes... looking forward to the piccys.
14. Groan... wish I had some spare cash... oh well. Looks very nice.
15. Wow! That's a beauty... I reckon 70's sometime. You'll have to get the neck orf and have a lookie at the stamp.
16. I used to play Picato black tape wounds... I quite liked them.
17. Five strings!!?? what the...
18. they are two different things.
19. Not really... my most played is a black jazz and I really dislike black... I got a green P to match our drummers kit only to find that he sold it and bought a red one... not so keen on green either. Sold on my two nicest lookers... natural wood.
20. Looks nice... how does it sound and play?
21. The 'Ricks' look nice... the Puncher P is a tad pricey.
22. Had severe gas for the sonic blue p, I would swap out the machines for some vintage style ones... the new amber VM p is causing me some trouble of a gaseous nature as well however.
23. I would like to see that... piccy?
24. Adding this sort of stuff to websites is just not done and is, at best, unprofessional. It also make me angry. I use ashdown gear as well.
25.
Not very long at all! I'm a finger player and keep my nails real short, and as soon as I get that percussive clicky sound of the nails hitting the strings its time to cut 'em!
Absolutely... I hate any clicking so I bite em back... it's the only time I bite/cut my nails. Not too short... I can't stand the look of regular nail biter nails.
