1. Yes...my wife bought me a Silver Series P bass as an engagement present... my son plays it now. It's a cracker.
2. I found loaded control plates for the stacks on the bay... link is out of date now.
3. The new 62 AV look great... stack knobs too... don't know if they're available in the UK.
4. Mitch... bummer. Hope it turns up. B****ds. I feel your pain. I had a bass nicked from a venue here in Oxford. I'd only had it a week and I had to pay HP on it for two years!
5. Cor! Why did they strat knobs... they make me cry!
6. Well you can always get it refretted if needs be... pricey but true.
7. Your bass is invisible.
8. heh... I'd say go for it! I felt exactly the same about my 62 Jazz which was a 'case inhabitant'. I already had the Ray which was getting most of my air time, so I had the Jazz defretted and dropped in a preamp. Now it's my main player. This was against the advice of all and sundry who said 'that's the best way to ruin a good bass ect.' I had the frets stoned to the tangs so it's got nice metal lines where the frets were. One has since fallen out however. It's really nice to have the Jazz back in the fold. Most sane folks will try to put you off so you must go with your instincts Luke! PS... I'm taking it for granted that you will keep it and not sell it on? If it's a seller then leave it. Ahh... I see it's a keeper... then do it. I've had no regrets.
9. Oooh... I'm skint...
10. Hmmm... I'd def consider 60s classic... very nice, like an unreliced RoadWorn.
11. Great interview! Thanks for the linkage. What an honest guy. I like the fact that he's a complete technophobe, like myself. I've little understanding of musical theory but major and minor and a few scales are about it for me! I play mostly by ear. I'm suprised there is no mention of his collaboration with japanese bleepmiester, Yoshihiro Hanno, (might have been after this article as was released April 2000, I've also seen a 1998 release date!) one of his most influential (for me) recordings... take a listen and buy the album if you can find it. 12. One day I'll get another. It will cost me considerably more than the £600 I paid for my last one however.
13.
A very reluctant sale... cry!

15. Mick Karn... his album 'Liquid Glass' with Yoshihiro Hanno made me defret my 62 Jazz. Heard the bad news today. We're rooting for you Mick.
16. Yes... had to sell off my '78 Ray last year... got £1300 for it.

20. You won't need the Badass IMO, so money saved there can go to a set of vintage style machines.
21. I have to concur about the CV Jazz, great basses for the mons. Good modding/replica platform too!
