1. You will have to drill out the mounting screws... the posts fit as you can see... I reckon you can get a set of these much cheaper from the states... 2. They're just the standard reverse gotohs... allparts. Not mine BTW. I quite fancy the hipshot vintage 'lollypop' style ones.
3. I would certainly swap out the machines for some vintage ones, they fit... these on a CV 60s P... Aren't they luvly!
4. I really could sink an Old Hooky right now! I quite liked the tort, reassuring to know that the USA guards fit though, I still fancy one in sonic blue with maybe a mint guard.
5. That's lovely Chris... superb!
6. The Squier VM fretless Jazz is very nice, there is also a superb Aria SB1000 lined fretless for sale in Oxford... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=65879 Only £595!

Info

Looks too complicated.
8. Hmmm... wooly tones eh? I personally hate wooly sounding basses.
9. If the MIM is really nice, I'd go with that. If you decide to get the vibe you won't be doing too badly... there, clear as mud.
10.
I had a '78 P that was very nice, wish I'd kept it, tbh.
Nice looking P there Paul, the Rick doesn't look too shabby!
11.
I'm thinking about starting to save for a nice vintage P bass. What are peoples opinions on what the better years from the 70's are?
The 60's.
12. Just posting a pic of my pride and joy... i take it out to play as often as I can. It's had a few mods over the years!

No they're long gone. Debenhams is there now!

SB1000 is SOLD

Heh... double bump... still too high?
15. I paid £350 for mine in '75... it was in the shop, hanging there with one of it's brand new bretheren next to it... they were both about the same price and I went for the old knackered, beaten up pile of rust and wood that was this bass. Didn't know anything about the 'vintage' thing in those days, I just knew I was in love.
16. I was lucky I bought my Jazz back in 75ish when I was a boy... we're both vintage now!
17. I reckon the CV pups are pretty good, standard P bass punch and growl, I'd probably swap out the machines for some proper vintage style ones and add the usual chrome and plastic accessories.
18. Are you going to keep it stock or mod it someways?
19. The new Squiers have some sort of 'HiMass' bridges these days... I don't know if you'll gain a lot more by fitting a badass. You won't be able to fit the bridge ashtrays if you do. I've an MIM P and I'm perfectly happy with the vintage style bit of bent metal. The Pino Squier looks great although I still prefer the sonic blue.
20. Yes... PMT in Oxford are selling the sonic blue version for nearly £300... God! I could murder a pint of Hooky!
21. Blimey... Squiers aren't cheap anymore. Great colour combo though.
22. Yes a Cowpoke... don't like em mesel... too american!

24. Even I would like that!
25. Ooh... I forgot, Sonic Blue with matching headstock, white guard, rosewood board. Swoon.
