Yes, go for the uncomplicated, no active or confusing controls, just a bog standard Jazz or Precision. You'll have fun and games finding the best example for you though.
6.
That is certainly eye-catching...I know it's too late now but I think a white-blotch-on-black pickguard to match the strap would have been cool!
You need to look at the first post. Moo!
7. Yes... each to their own. You have a super jazz there none the less.
8. Yes... not my cup 'o tea, but eyecatching... neat job!
9. Don't do it, rep it!
10. Superb and reasonable sponding... a browner tort would be nicer but hey! What's the under pickguard routing like? Show us a pic of the back of the headstock please. Get the ashtrays and tugbar on... if only to take them off and leave the holes!
11. Well they look great, I especially like the maple board option. I've heard nothing but good about them however. I've not tried one yet though. FWIW I bought a 2002 MIM P off the bay a couple of years ago, thought it may turn out to be a POS, it's one of the best basses I've owned! For the new ones I really like the White/Maple combo!
12. I'm afraid some 'proper' Jazzes have the same routing.... The CV Jazz is great for the mons and would make a nice replica project bass.
13. Hmmm... still looks very peachy... board looks much better than my '78 and that played like a mother. God I miss that ray.

Cheers Pete... yes... I'm the hapless seller. It's a factory fretless... I bought it new from Taphouses in Oxford in 1980, a super bass but it has to go for financial reasons. I've lost all those bits and pieces you described over the years, I'll drop the price and see what happens next. Bob.
It's over-priced-ee ...
Is it? Saw a new SB1000 RI fiver going for £1700 recently!!
18. Blimey... it's worth a stab at that price. I see holes for the covers, bound fingerboard...
19. Hmm... don't like the price... hate the colour.
20. IMO the best thing about the P bass is it's lack of complication... one pup, one tone control... if you're looking for more than that then get a Jazz bass. I'd get an MIA but I'm more than happy with my MIM... only £250 off the bay, it's a cracker.
21. The P gas gets us all in the end... took me nearly thirty years!
22. Interesting scratchplate vibe going on there Mr Pig... I'd swap it out for a tort guard though... nice bass... and it's a P!
23. Got bored so took some piccys.. P basses really are great... I have severe gas for another however!
