1. It's a tugbar below the strings, thumbrest above.
2. Can't go wrong with a CV Jazz, they really are super!

Ay Caramba!!

My 62 had rusty pups when I got it... sounded great... why oh why did I swap them for DiMarzios?... cry.

Ay Caramba!!

Superb! There's some mojo there. It will get silly...
5. Ahh... got the wrong end there, thanks Jon. Didn't clock the dates... FWIW I've a Jap Squier Silver Series Precision that my wife bought for me in 1990 (ish)... It's a superb bass, my son has it now. Bob.
6. JV's are very nice and quite sort after... I'd say that's a VERY good price. Can we have some piccys?
7. Yes... just treat it with a bit of common... they really are great once you've dialed in the tone you like.
8. Operator error... the preamp's output is surprising, I also lent it to someone who decided to run everything flat out. Doh.
9. I've a J-Retro on my 62 fretless... it's sounds absolutely monster... be careful with the output though, I've blown a couple of MAG 300 speakers with it!

Yes... I should have said - another expensive Fender copy.

Ahh... another Fender copy... no thanks.
12. Get those frets off now!... I defretted my 62 Jazz, rosewood board... no probs. It's only a Wal... blimey.
13. That's nice bigjohn, if it plays anything like mine it's a killer. Would look great with some vintage mojo, covers, tugbar...
14. You'll only make it 200% more complicated to use!
15. They had some great colours for MIMs around then... mine is a 2002 in Teal green metallic, looks blue and grey depending on the lighting...
16. I'm looking to get a CV P as a project bass... here's what I have in mind... Vintage reverse machines, matching headstock, pup cover, flat top knobs, poss light relicing... 7 neck plate, 3rd strap button (back of headstock) Or I might get the CV Jazz and do the same...
17. Walked past PMT again today... sunburst RW Jazz hanging in window... arrgghh!
18. You could do worse than a trip to Oxford (PMT Cowley Road)... they have a nice selection of 7enders inc RW P and J, or, better still, the Guitar Gallery where you can pick up a loverly eighties fretless SB1000 for £700!
19. Hmmm... interesting... the last Ricky I tried was awful... just awful, so I'd have to go the 7ender route. I'm nuts about them anyways. I've tried the RW and they're damn fine although I suspect the resale value won't be so good. You might find a CS for around the same money... I quite fancy the 62 Jazz RI as well. Try before you buy of course. I wish I had some cash!
20. I've stared at that Jazz for hours!
21. heh... they're both bloody good but that sonic blue does it for me.
22. I fitted one below the G just for the vintage vibe... it's a tugbar in this position... might move it to above the E but I'm a floater...
23. Allparts... http://www.allparts.uk.com/ Axesrus... http://www.axesrus.com/axecart.htm possibly...
24. Brown tort... goes with anything.
25. Sounds great Steve! I always have my tone set to the halfway position so I can easily roll off or on some top or bottom, but use the amp for the main eq... enjoy.
