3.
This one's lived in its case for a good while and I've enjoyed taking it out for the last few shows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=327Gb97Unlg Camerawork by John The Fire Hazard.
Sonic blue ricky? OMG!!!
4. I have real gas for one of these... Yes... a Squier!
5. Cor... nice! I'm no expert though but.
6. Well I tried three back to back in my shop... CV Jazz, RW Jazz, Custom shop Jazz... The CS was nice but not £1300 nice... there wasn't that much between the CV and the RW though!
7.
Ignore all this knocking MIM Fenders. It is possible to make a good instrument in any country. At one point Fender USA were making some right tat - so where it's made isn't everything. Since playing a bunch of MIA P's, I've noticed that acutally my MIM P bass is rather good for the money - and its only a standard mex that I've pimped a bit and propperly set up. It's like when people snigger at Korean made guitars - just take a look at my Crafter TB-Bubinga and tell me its poorly made! Like Burrito Bass says, if you think it's honestly worth the money then buy it.
After a little setting up and moderate pimping MIM P plays like a dream...
8.
£899 for a MIM? For that price you'd get a current '09 MIA. Granted, it wouldn't have the relic job, but it would be a better bass and also hold it's value more.
Have you tried one? They really are super...
9. I've tried one of these and I loved it! My main player is a '62 Jazz and this felt like it could have been it's brother/sister. I seriously want one. At my LMS... PMT in Oxford they have one for £940. Sunburst/rosewood board.
10. Hmm... some interesting options here... I used to get a nice upright sound from my SB1000 if I fingered over the board, just over the heel of the neck. Roundwounds of course.

Wals at OGG

Haven't tried an Enfield yet, they're very Wal-ish... don't like the logo though. Maybe a bit too 'boutique' for moi.

They've an Enfield in there now... cripes.
13. Looks nice Si... Silver series?
14. Heh... welcome to the world of P Si... I've mine set up with a slight camber that matches the neck profile... about 1/4 in from the strings? I dont have a measuring stick thingie... Any help?
15. Hmmm... £399 seems a bit high to me, they were/are around that new. I got my 2002 MIM P of the bay for £250. I'd get one of the new ones, they can't be much more than that.
16. No probs Wayne... good luck with your search... I love jazzers too! My '62 ...
17. Well for that sort of sponding you could do worse than try a RoadWorn Jazz... they're great and you'd have some change!
18. Are the stock pups on these new ones no good then? The one/s on my 2002 MIM sound great.
19.
The Classic 50's P is a really nice bass (with glossed maple neck/fingerboard & anodised gold scratch guard) & the new Standard series P's are pretty nice, but before you spend a lot of hard earned, try the Squier Classic Vibe 60's P in sonic blue. You may be surprised...
I have to agree that the CV 60s is a super bass but for an extra £100 I would have to seriously consider one of these over that. Sonic blue or not! I think the white and maple has the edge.
20.
Thoroughly recommend them. The MIM standards (2009) are so much better than before. My white jobby with maple board, now with Badass, Wizard Thumper PUP and Schaller tuners
Wow... yours? How much? Is it stock? super...
21. It looks rather big on her... she must bit petit... Another piccy... I'm not that tall myself and I find it to be a very comfortable bass.
22. Loverly Ps Andy... likey lots the LPB!
23. Haven't tried one yet but I've heard good. Liking the new/old logo and the maple neck option too. They come in some nice colours also.
24. Back to Wals... if you don't mind the price, and you really want and can afford one, I'd say get one... don't forget when Mick and Percy et al were playing theirs, they were a lot cheaper than they are now... heck... I've seen used Mk1s going for up to £3000!! I regret not having bought one when I had the chance. As for Mick and Percy's sound I would put that down to their own particular style of fretless playing rather than make of bass. I found I could dail in a very reasonable Wal sound on my SB1000.
25.
This thread needs more pics! P-Bass Pic:
CV 60s? God... I love sonic blue.
