1.
That's what they said in the 90s.
That's what they said in the 80s
2. Yes... I feel your pleasure... just had to let my '78 Ray go... still got my Jazz though. Enjoy!
3. My next bass will prob be a passive fretless so I reckon it'll be either a CV Jazz or CV 60's P both of which will make great project basses IMO.... my spond situation is pretty dire at the mo.
4. How can they nearly double the price on a re-paint? !!!
5.
that bass is giving me some serious gas , im seriously considering selling my current main bass and getting one of these , the blue colour and the painted headstock are really nice touches, theres a nice picture of this bass on the squier website http://www.squierguitars.com/products/sear...rtno=0301078502 It also says something about the quality of Squier nowadays that he owns a Rick but is still up for a Squier signature bass
I reckon you'd be better of saving your monies and get a CV Jazz... I reckon that's all this one is really.
6. At £420 it make the CV Jazz even more of a steal IMO. Now's the time to grab one before Squier hike their prices.
7. There's a super Aria SB1000 lined fretless at the Guitar Gallery in Oxford...
8. I'd have to agree with Mike... I've a P and a J and I love em both... depends on what material I'm playing and who I'm playing with which bass I choose. I've had to loose my other two top flighters so these are my only choice and I'm keeping them.... I hope!

My 2 P's

Great Andy... love the Classic P... great colour combo and vintage vibe.
10. That's Sonic Blue there Nick... great review... Now I'm torn between the Jazz and the 60's P... knickers!
11. Yes... as I said earlier, they really are smashing! I've serious gas for a CV 60's P though... I've been bitten by the sonic blue bug.

What bass

You wont go wrong with a Fender Precision or Jazz... you should be able to pick a used one for that sort of sponding. I got a Mexican example off the bay for £250 and it turned out to be a very nice bass indeed.
13.
It's the soundslive link that I posted before, but they've sold out. I bought it over 6 months ago I think and it's been great.
OkeeDokee... no probs... I'll continue with my bag for another couple of decades... I hope!
14. Blimey... Looks a bit tatty... I mean I'm sure I can see some rust!
15.
Just checked my invoice for the Body Glove gig bag - £37.99. Amazing value!
Linkage?
16. I've been using a Warwick gig bag for the last couple of decades.
17. Wow... fretboard looks like glass!
18. Rumour has it there's a fretless version in the pipeline.
19. Okay then... after Sonic Blue, Olympic white... then... after years of hating burst (I'm 52), burst. Tort guard with 'limpy and burst, white or mint with sonic. There... that's it.
20. They're very nice basses... played one recently at my LMS back to back with a RW Jazz (Sunburst), the RW was great but the CV blew me away... I liked the gloss neck... pity about the under guard routing but it would make a great project bass - Stacked knobs, vintage tuners, covers, matching headstock. Lovely.
21.
I've had four wals in the past, two custroms & two pro1's fretted & fretless, & it seemed to me that whatever you do with the pickup pan & tone filters you still get that wal honky bark (it's hard describing sound) with a different flavour on top as you tweak the controls but it's alway's there, i love that sound & i can get close to it with my warwick nt6 fretless biased towards the bridge pickup, bass boost flat & treble boost almost off, but it still hasn't got that wal vibe, Does that make any sense?
What doesn't make sense is you longer have them?
22. This is what I'm talking about...
23. Gassing for a sonic blue bass at the moment... overall though I prefer wood coloured guitars... had to let my two wood basses go though (SB1000 + Stingray.... cry). I'm left with a black one and a green one... not that keen on either colour!
24. Heh... I've seen these before at that other place... good to see you here and your fine basses.
25. I have to agree about the J-Retro... put one in my Jazz (fretless) and it's a bass monster... I play mainly Drum&Bass with it. I've a MIM Precision that I've modded but only as far as new machines and covers, the electrics are fine and it sounds great.
