1.
Who's that then?
Dave Bowmer is his nomenclature.
2. Cripes... I thought the thread read 'regressive prolapse'... Great instruments... a friend of mine teaches at clinics around Europe. Too many strings for me though.
3. That jazz looks very cool... super!
4. A friend of mine has the Vintage, very nice it is too... may have to get over the fake relic look and the strange headstock shape. Has decent bits on it and plays very nicely.
5. I bought some Wilkos for my MIM P bass... I did have to drill out new mounting holes... just get them started and have a nice sharp screwdriver, Use the old mounting screws as the wilko ones are shorter.
6.
Sorry for not contributing to the thread but I just have to say what a magnificent looking precision!
Why thank you sir... came out a bit mustardy in those piccys... colour is actually Capri Orange... Crappy ipod pic.
7. That is.... lovely!
8. My fretless P has a heavily laquered maple board... to save wear on the actual wood methinks. My fretted 78 Ray also had a heavily laquered maple board. It had worn away in the usual places. I don't recall ever seeing a raw maple board, guitar or bass.

Tis a thing of beauty!
10. Cor! If I could play like that... I guess I'd play a bit like that! A friend of mine has one, gigs it with a folk/disco band. Very nice it is too.
11. I prefer RS 66's on my Ps as well, I've a fretted and fretless. The fretless has a heavily lacquered maple board.
12. Yes... I think the term is 'checking'.
13. Interesting looking bass... love the cracks!
14. I like the tubular neck idea... if they can make one out of steel then maybes they could make a wood one?
15. Super!
16. A lot of Stingray players can't get on with them because they don't know how to eq...
17.
Aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh!!!!! I'm completely happy with my basses, I'm completely happy with my basses, I'm completely happy with my basses, I'm completely happy with my basses....
Exactly
18. Any Ray thread now gives me severe gas... gotta get out of here!
19. I had to sell my 78 Ray... brought tears to the old eyes... don't do it man!
20. Lovely... black and maple is such a classy combo. Congrats...
21. I've always used RS 66s on my Jazz... super.
22. Love the Sonic Blue P... missed out on one when they came out... hard to find now. I was enjoying that until the slap n pop. Call me grumpy!
23. I went to the factory sometime in the mid eighties, Electric Wood? High Wycombe with a friend of mine who was getting his Wal made at the time... spent a good few hours in there, met Pete and Wal, lovely guys. Looked, smelt and talked basses all afternoon. Nearly pulled the trigger on one meself, regret now that I didn't... I had some sponds then!
24. Cor... I'd like that very much... Did the same to the frets on my Jazz btw...
25. Played the Butterscotch one at my LMC... blew me away... amazing.
