1.
Another bass I took as a p/x in the last week or two. A nice cheap Cort in satin black with distinctive pearloid binding around the body & a nicely profiled 24 fret wenge neck. Feels and sounds very Warwick like to play & comes complete with two-band eq & a push/pull active/passive control on the volume pot. Comes with a nice cream Italia gig bag.

Excellent overall condition with just a slight scratch on the back above the battery cover.

The bass will come strung with a nice new set of DR Marcus Miller FatBeams and fully set up. Can't say fairer than that :)

£200 or make me a silly offer. Part exchanges & trade offers welcome as per usual.

Hey Rich, you got any interest in an Epiphone Tunderbird IV with hardcase?

Cheers

3.
Up now... my Ibanez AGB200 hollowbody bass.
its a really beautiful instrument, and has served me well as long as ive had it. i bought it from new about a year and a half ago, but because of a change in musical direction i have decided to say farewell. it has only ever been gigged once, as it has only been used as a backup.
its in geat condition, everything works perfectly, it has a nice slim neck, low action, only a couple of tiny chips on the back of the headstock.
not really looking for a cash deal at the moment, as i do really need a backup bass, so im looking to trade.
what i'm looking for? i'm casting the net pretty wide on this one, anything interesting really, 4 strings, possibly 5, fretted or fretless... anything that catches my eye.
and feel free to PM me with any questions.
P.S, i would ideally like this collected from the NW, but it could be posted for approx £25-30
ive got an epiphone t-bird IV lightly modded with hardcase for trade, still in as new condition. hope that takes your interest as ive always had an eye for an artcore!

5.
So as most of you know I bought a Westone Conchord on Sunday for peanuts.

Also Jacklondon wants me to do a re-fin for him so I'm going to try it out on this first.

Plans:

Take the lacquer off of the neck for a satin finish

Paint the the bass and headstock

Clean it

Problems:

Most of the body is covered by a scratchplate but due to the routing being so tidy I'm going to make a perspex plate.

The fingerboard is quite worn is there anyway to rectify?

There is a small crack on the headstock by the E tuner ( I have tried to picture it) is it worth trying to fix it or just leave it as it looks dirty so I assume it's been there for a while.

What should I use to clean up the hardware?

And last but not least can anyone give me some history on this bass?

hi dude

im doing a westone rebuild too! got myself a thunder II body on ebay.

I did most research on www.westone.info
yours would the the 83-84 model as the headstock doesnt match the body.

That finger board is really worn! from the looks your three options would be to de-fret it, gently and evenly sand the board then re-fret it, replace the fingerboard or replace the neck.

Hope im of some help!

6. I had booked these tickets through a friend ages ago, forgot and booked a gig on the same night. I thought I'd never say it but the gigs more important haha so I'm selling them on.

I paid £18 per ticket which would be getting me into the premier enclosure.
It is the family fun day so what you get is a day at the races, Jools holland in concert and a firework show.

I would like what I paid for them (£18 per ticket) please :)

They are also on offer in the local newspaper, so they could be gone soon.

All the best

7. Well here it is, this is gonna be my first attempt at putting a bass together.

I bought a Westone Thunder I body off ebay for £20 a while ago and it had been badly routed to make it a Thunder II so first job was to tidy the rout. neck i decided to get a neck. Realising getting one made would cost a bomb and I dont trust myself fretting etc. at the mo.

Ebay again! I Found a Tanglewood Bantam neck unused for £30 and so I have now sanded off the headstock. I also got a Gotoh 201 (cosmo blck) bridge and some unknown black machine heads..... I hate the machine heads i want cosmo black! any one willing to swap with a litle cash on my side please get in touch :)

Being a student i now have very little if any money! So Ive put the word out to you kind basschatters if anyone is willing to donate electrical parts! Orangepeelneil has kindly offered his Tokai Pbass pickups once he has made the change but that is all as of now.

I thought i would be adventurous with the control plate and so i managd to get hold of some mahogany scraps from college and make them myself (Even thouh one did get eaten by the belt sander! Good job i make spares!) pics to come of these

Ive now started to paint it! I wanted a blue wood dye but I have settled for a clear blue laquer........ Oh dear I seem to have made a schoolboy error and not used laquer thinner beforehand!!! It is patchy and has gone everywhere!

Ok new paint job, less is more eh? pics up soon dudes

8. Surplus to requirements and the cars due for MOT.

I got this only a couple of months ago but it isnt what im actually after, im quite happy with my muff :)

Heres a quick write up from the Hartke site:

The Hartke Bass Attack Pedal is a tone-shaping pre-amp that doubles as a direct box, featuring the famous Hartke Shape Circuitry. The two-button style stomp box has a three band EQ for adjustments of Bass, Treble, and Bright controls, plus a Harmonic control that emulates the warmth and drive of a tube so well that you’ll never want to turn it off. The Hartke Bass Attack Pedal gives you the ability to finally get the sound you want, and everything in between

Simple enough!

Used only once during practice still with box and plastic wrapping.

£70+ £5 P+P or pickup from Burnley seems fair.

All the best
Anthony
