bloody computers ! I haven't forgotten, the PC conked out and I had to buy a new base unit - so all the bits will be paying for that ! I'll reply (when I have a moment) to all who have enquired in date order until all has gone - apologies for the delay... Paul.
the first person to ask has bought the lot - so no need for a list P.
Take it back and gt your money back under the sale of goods act "fit for purpose" bit Take the description from the seller's or the Markbass websites and teh reviews) in with you and say "go on then, show me how" If it can't do what it's supposed to do then you have grounds for a total refund.
the best combo for home practice IMHO is the Roland Bass Cube 30 - never had any problems with mine and it gets used for testing guitar repairs, which means being switched on and off many times, and all for a fraction of the price.

I sit my rack box on some sponge workshop tiles to damp some of the vibration, inspired by vibration damping foam, but not as eye-wateringly expensive (the cabs were a cheap option, but sound great )

Might need to sell this (car AND PC troubles in the same week ) If you're interested drop me a line .. P.
It's become clear that I'm not going to have the time to build cabs officially, so I'm considering unloading all the materials I've accumulated - I've most of the bits needed to build a couple of Omni 10.5s if anyone is interested, and some stuff left over ( speakers/handles etc.) If there's anything you're after give me a call and we can thrash out a price - I'll post a full list when I get back from a short holiday (end of next week) Paul.
Back from holiday, I'll reply to all enquiries when I have a moment P.
They look like 18s to me, but then again I never was good at judging sizes. Just ask my missus......
The drumsticks are likely (according to the Vic Firth site) to be around 15" long, plus he says in an interview that "My cabs were made in 1978 by a flight case company and fitted with JBL K140 speakers" (which are 15")

looking for plans for a 2X15 in the same style as a bfm cab
Paul_C replied to umph's topic in Amps and Cabs
Been thinking about building my own cab was wondering how hard it is and such forth? Was thinking of going for a 2X15 that i'd be able to wire in stereo so would be able to choose between using one speaker for home or two for louder gigs etc. does anyone know anywhere i could find good plans for effiecent cab designs like the bfm ones? I had a look and don't think he does 2X15s ;<
The OmniTop 15 can be built as a 2x15 - the details are part of that set of plans. P. -
I think you should be happy doing what I do.. Like what you like and dislike that which you don't like. That doesn't mean dismissing everything within a particular genre, though - you can pick and choose whatever you like.
Hi paul, I don't recognise the titles. Who did the originals? That might give me an idea of stuff in similar vein.
Time Is Tight is Booker T and the MGs, Monkey Man is Toots and the Maytals (The Specials covered it live, as did Amy Winehouse on a JH Hootenanny) The Harder They Come is Jimmy Cliff The band myspace is http://www.myspace.com/markdacosta with a couple of the originals on it. I'm loathe to try and identify exactly what's wanted, as people might throw in things I'd never consider, but those should give some idea.

I'm gigging in a band playing mostly originals mixed with a few covers, Time Is Tight - Monkey Man - The Harder They Come are the current ones. Any suggestions for similar bouncy songs ?
